Jello Shallow Reef Pits | POV Bodyboarding | Perth, WA

Woke up early morning to check the wind, and to surprise there was no of it. Went down to a little slab to see if it was on. It was, but the reef was 10cm to shallow for it to properly barrel and I did not want to get cheese grated on a the reef.

I used to live in Perth (Scarborough) over the millennium. Bodyboarded Scarborough daily, Cottesloe, Hillarys, Trigg Point, Two Rocks/Yanchep. Also went south to Margaret's and north to Geraldton. I grew up bodyboarding in Old South Wales. Now I live in Colorado so don't sponge anymore. Really miss WA though! Great video 🥳

nice at north cottesloe it is god on a mid tide with a 2.5m sell from south west

hey what would be good conditions to go out at that spot, know where it is but its never on when i go past there

High tide, low easterlys and swell above 1.5m. Its a tricky wave I only think it works certain times of year and always looks super small when looking down from it at the carpark.

is the reef dangerous? A no go on low tides?

Yeah it works best on a high tide. To low and it just starts to crumble, not barrell or become dry like this session.

its way to shallow on low tides, like the reef is full exposed. It still sketch af at high tides
