Walking on Sanandaj Bazar 2

Sanandaj city has two large and major markets, one of which is known as the old market. The plan of this market is in the shape of a large rectangle and is different from most Iranian markets that are formed linearly. This bazaar is inspired by the bazaar around Naghsh Jahan Square in Isfahan. In the middle of this bazaar were various shops that were destroyed due to street construction in the early Pahlavi government and the bazaar was divided into two parts. The northern part of the street is called Sanandaji Bazaar and the southern part is called Asef Bazaar. From the intersection of the old gate of Sanandaj Bazaar, now three gates remain at the old entrance. Date of construction of Sanandaj Bazaar in the time of Suleiman Khan Ardalan in 1046 AH. AH returns. On this date, Suleiman Khan was appointed by the Safavid kings as the governor of Kurdistan and Sanandaj was chosen as the capital of Kurdistan. This bazaar and the government castle (Saneh Fortress) were built at the same time. The ceiling of the bazaar is made in the form of arches, arches and domes, and the roof of the rooms is made in the form of arches. The materials used in the market are mostly stone, clay and brick.
