This past full moon is what they call the strawberry moon. Supposed to be closest to the earth than any other time.
I like the name. Apparently these flatheads enjoyed it as well haha
Because of you I started rocking better bait and it makes a huge difference with bait loss and liveliness
The gas can worms make a return! That reminds me of the first time you showed that trick in one of your videos. The basement to my parents' house has a concrete walkout that sits below ground level, so dirt, twigs and leaves collect in the corners of each stair step. After watching your video, I dug around in those dirt pockets, and sure enough, each one was filled with perfect bait-sized earthworms and the occasional nightcrawler. Ever since then, I've rarely needed to buy worms!
A 3 flathead night seems pretty awesome to me! You ever run night time guided flathead trips? If so, I'd like to try throwing a big jerkbait to pass the time
That's awesome. Worm prices are kinda ridiculous in my opinion. I still get them outta convenience at times. I do run night trips. You'd probably have a good shot at hooking a flathead on a jerkbait on that river.

I would recommend making a compost bin for the worm farm. If you ever need any sort of instructional help, I would be glad to assist in any way I can. They are incredibly helpful and reducing food waste considering you can throw leftovers, rotten fruits and veggies and even eggshells in there. And as a bonus, there is always a chance that new fruits and veggies will grow from the compost.
I really appreciate that man. It's definitely something I'm gonna consider down the road!
How do you go about starting this, I’ve been wanting to do it for a while
@@beachbuster9716 First you would need a storage bin, something like 30-50 gallons. then cut a hole on the side but close to the bottom, just big enough to attach a piece of hose then a 10 gallon bucket for all of that juicy worm water to filter out (the worm water is super nutritious and is good to water your plants). Fill it with healthy soil. A lot of worms and I think its pretty common to use I think they are called soldier fly larva. and anytime you have rotten veggies or leftover you can toss it in. the worms will mate I think twice a year so you dont have to worry about adding more. Water it just so it stays nice and MOIST! and cover it loosely with like corn husks or something.
at least thats how i do it and it works. But Definitely look it up in case there are some steps im missing.

I hate cutting up flatheads. I do sometimes bc they are delicious. Like you said they are so hard to come by at times.
I rebuilt an old Colman stove over the winter and it works like a champ. I like the wind wings on the lid. It’s a big help.

Three dandy's, that was well worth keeping you up, ain't it? Yeah I really never was a fan of a full moon either, me and my Uncle, well we would go three days before or three days after, same as a new moon too, we usually followed the almanac but we took a chance and just figured we'd go to the river right in the middle of a full moon and wouldn't know it, we absolutely tore them up, I believe it was like eleven flatheads and two pretty good channels, one about 8 lbs and the other around ten lbs, those were real dandy's for the Great Miami river! Anywho, very cool Spencer! Rock on 🤘 bud!

Last full moon (probably the same night), just killed em. Only little 2-3 pound channels as that as almost as big as they get. Still a great time. Then got into some eyes the next morning. Thanks as always for sharing brother!! 👍🏽👊🏽✊🏽☺💯

Daaang! That was a dandy! So I bet u get fishing tips all the time, and just watchin one of your older videos I've got one for ya. When your walking through the woods with fishing poles, turn the rods around in your hand with handles facing forward. Easier to walk with a tail than a nose.

Ever thought about coming out to AZ? The Salt River I hear is real nice for big flat heads, they have flat head tourneys pretty often. The river is kinda far from where I'm from in Tucson, but I really think u would kill it. Anyway love the channel, it's cool ur a baseball guy, not a Cubbies fan, but I am a life long Braves fan. Many sad year in the 90s

Kinda. I've had skunks and caught fish after, but never have I caught a true monster after one.
Lol "gas can worms"...... that's classic! You should make shirts and hats, I'd buy them. Gotta be a little frustrating guiding and the fish don't cooperate. When you fry up fish, do you exclusively use Frank's? They always look good. Caught some nice ones in this video dude!
I'll definitely think about that one. It's super frustrating when the fish don't cooperate, but I try my best to make sure everyone is having fun at the very least. I fry them in all kinds of stuff, but the franks is definitely my favorite!

Full moon is weird sometimes. I had my best flathead night on a full moon caught 27 in one night at a dam.
