Dr.Gianotta was the surgeon I researched for my husbands acoustic neuroma in 2013, we went to three different neurosurgeons from Kansas City to Phoenix to finally KECK with Dr Gianotta, side note Dawn was his Pa, and it brought great comfort for him to know that she had been through the same thing. The reason we choose Dr Gianotta was his experience with these particular tumors, but also it was one of his specialties. The other Dr’s were very knowledgeable although they had only done three to five in their entire life. Also, Dr. Maceri was involved in the surgery, he was the ENT, and he was an unexpected happy surprise. (He drew us pictures of the procedure). We were so thrilled to not only have the best Neurosurgeon we also had the best ENT and Dawn was a wonderful asset. My husband is 6 years out now, and he is doing wonderful. I just want to send Big hugs to the three of you, from the minute we walked in, we knew we made the very best choice, and have never had any regrets. Again thank you

I had surgery about 10 years ago by Drs. Giannotta and Maceri for an acoustic neuroma on the right side. I suffered "brain swelling" and spent about a week in ICU in horrendous pain and went blind at the time and then spent two more weeks in recovery before being sent to Loma Linda for the final week of recovery. A recent MRI found I had previously suffered a stroke in my occipital lobe. Neither Giannotta nor Maceri informed me of this. Nor did they inform me of the very serious staph infection I developed while at USC Medical. (Gianotta discusses stroke at around 25:00 in this video.) They discharged me without telling me anything of the damage to my brain and body that I had endured. In the follow-up visits with each doctor, they did not explain what had happened. I am only now learning about the nature of the damage I suffered. I met Dawn Fishback at the follow up with Gianotta.
