Supreme ma'am
Only a father of two daughters could have taken the bold decision promoting equality for women. Salute you!
Sometimes getting an entry to office itself is difficult unless u r someone's someone or coming with some background. Breaking the ideology is difficult , second step is getting an opportunity to perform . That takes away all energy. There is no ladder to climb .. so what I'm thinking is these kind of public speeches atleast gives a sense of hope for women and changes thinking of parents and the like to bring in their daughters to advocacy.
At the end of the day it is performance . Delivering justice. It's not about gender. Creating a platform and opportunity is what we are looking.
It is the need of the hour that there is quality working atmosphere in court For resting and other purpose.
Well said... Just watched Justice Hima Kohli's address a few minutes back and she rightly said that felicitations such as these will encourage more to come forward like they have, and hopefully bring change in the way family of women think...

This effort on my part is also his passion for Nercha an annual festivity of immense joy and social feasting of Lord Ayyappan. The sorrow of loosing him inspired his searching s for a captives of mammels their well being too.A humbled effort to unite the kith and kin toward their reunion shall remain an endeavor toward GUMSHUDHA TALAASH KENBRA.

Law and justice mentioned person may be men or women .we support CJI .
There should be equality of opportunity, not equality in outcomes. Give more weight to competence. Irrespective of gender.

Although I agree that the ratio is too extreme at present... However, there are women who have done excellent work and there are women who have defeated the very purpose of their holding the office... Unfortunately it was one lady judge who gave the desenting judgement in Sabarimala based on a reasoning that I humbly submit, is not sound in law.... In the CJI sexual harrasment case, the committee was headed by a female Judge, as is required for such committee, (I am not commenting about the merits of the case, but the procedure)... The ridiculous POCSO judgement by the Nagpur Bench ("skin to skin contact") was given by a female judge... There are very good judgements also, but that has nothing to do with the Judge being a lady... They were sensible; that's all we need.... Reservation when you are already a judge or a senior advocate is not required... Instead, see that in the evaluation process the committee which decides on promotion is well represented so that everyone gets a level playing field... Although often despite being well represented, a section may prevail over the other within a commitee... I honestly feel that the Hon'ble CJI meant equal representation and that at some point the bench and bar showing a balance would be indicative of gender equality but took the reservation track... Idk..
Also, first generation Advocate's face a lot of problems establishing themselves and even have to work for literally peanuts ! That's because there's something called "face value" in Courts... Newbies will not get to say much, but the established ones are allowed to go on and on with the most basic, and often ridiculous arguments.. Mutual respect between Bar & Bench should be for all regardless of their background...
P.S : Loved Justice Hima Kohli's address uploaded after this one... Felicitations such as these will encourage more women as she rightly said....
Edit dated Oct 28th- Aryan Khans's bail after former Attorney General Mr. Mukul Rohatgi took over the case, demonstrates the point regarding "face value" I have mentioned above... He has said nothing that hasn't been said earlier... This bail that has been granted today subject to conditions, could have been granted way back... A consumer would obviously have contacts with peddlers... That's irrelevant for the purpose of bail atleast... The policy regarding addicts is clear .. there was no need for all this hullabaloo just for political gain...
You are the advocate which we men appreciate and hail also want to work par with us .
Time has come to break the berriers of first generation lawyers and traditional one! What we all need is attachment and commitment towards the profession and towards the litigants which we are terribly lacking.. Even when judiciary has passed it's golden time, most of the judges till see who is making what kind of submission..
@@YASHVEER971 Women who are out there, are already working at par (in terms of skills).. There are all kinds of men and all kinds of women... In my comment I haven't denied that the conditions are heavily against women, like in any other profession... The reasons have been very well highlighted by the Hon'ble CJI in his speech... But after so many years of service and experience, hand-holding with reservation is not going to address the problem.. Besides, it's not in larger interest... The committee deciding on promotions has to have a more open mind and be better represented... At entry level, a lot of women are not entering the bar because of their families... It was not long ago that I met some people who were proud to say that they did not "allow" their daughter/sister to choose the profession of their choice ... How great !!!
@@debdattaaghosh8365 The kind of submission is material... But who is making it, is not... That's true... It makes me nauseous when people regard someone just for their face value in Court, whereas they say the most basic things and even end up making really silly arguments sometimes... But judges keep patience instead of insulting them... But if a newbie does that.. they ridicule them...
Huh!!
" Women Empowerment Necessity in every Nation " 🇮🇳🪴💐🙏
But in court she is very strict and will scold nicely Nagratna
It is great to have gender diversity on the bench, but gender must not be a criteria for determining judicial appointments in the Constitutional Courts. There is a difference between providing for equality of opportunity and enforcing equality of outcome.
Also, for all this talk of equality, fathers are still treated like second-class citizens by the same Constitutional Courts in custody disputes. With the exception of J. Nagarathna's own judgment, there are hardly any upholding shared parenting in the whole country.
Gender stereotypes are bhadwi abhi Allah bad high court ne kaha ki it is moral duty of husband to provides for his wife and family
👍women power,fight for justice
Cji lady h ja man its not important
Sarkar ke khilaf faisley laine ka dum rakhta hai puppet to nahi bn jaega sarkari its the important thing 🙏🏻
If you cannot clear exams you resort to gender card...
It has to be only about merit & not an iota about gender, be it women or men. I believe having a women chief justice shall not make any difference to function of administering justice but no one will point out at latent misandry in such thoughts. Only misogyny is recognized as a sin, but not misandry. Gender equality from feminist/women viewpoint is certainly about being self-centered/gynocentric & about promoting self interests in power hierarchy etc. without any justifiable basis to it.
I do agree 👍
