Hi Chief, good to see you back! I often say that one should listen to every version of every song that you can lay your hands (or ears) on. There's always something slightly different or a little detail that you hear in a slightly different mix. If you are listening to Tarja, probably my favourites are Kuolema Tekee Taiteilijan and Creek Mary's Blood both at Hartwall Areena 2005 (the show with Marco doing High Hopes).

¨Great reaction to Tarja. I got in to trash metal through Metallica, Testament etc. Nuclear Assault since mid 80's. Early 2000's a friend told me at a bar, that he liked Nightwish. I was like, what the opera? You're nuts. Couple a years later, and I swear I can't remember why, but I bought a Nightwish CD set that had their CD's up to Wishmaster. I really liked it. Listen to some rarely played songs like The Sacrament of Wilderness or The Riddler from the Oceanborn album.
I really dig your signature style of jumping straight into the reaction content straightaway. I share the same taste for weirdness and mixing of styles/genres/traditional/folk/tribal-indigenous.... especially with a metal flavor. With all my work overtime and chores and errands... I don't keep up with the "industry " anymore, or the underground or grounbreakers; so you and anyone with our tastes are much appreciated for showing me artists to check out. Thank you, Chief!
If you havent done The Islander, I definitely recommend that one. It was during the Annett years and is actually Marco (guitarist) for most of the vocals!
To this day almost 20 years later, Nemo still makes me feel a way that few others do. The album versions is so much better, with the outro being this huge buildup that feels like the end of a fantasy story.
I think this one, as well as many other old Nightwish songs sounds magical with Tarja on the vocals. Floor is undeniably the superior all-around vocalist, but these more goth inspired tunes from the old Nightwish, just sound better with Tarja's voice.
