This reading and writing lesson is one part of our complete Persian language course. Lessons 1-25 of reading and writing are available on our website (www.chaiandconversation.com/r.... By the end of the course, you will be able to read and write in the Persian language. We also have over 80 lessons that teach you conversational Persian (www.chaiandconversation.com/l.... In those lessons, we use phonetic English spelling, so you don't have to be able to read and write Persian before learning to speak it conversationally!
In this Persian / Farsi reading and writing lesson, we learn the letter ض. This letter has the same base as ص but has one dot above. The letter is named 'zād' and is pronounced 'zé'. It is one of several letters that makes the 'zé' sound. Just as we said we ص, to know when to use this particular letter rather than others making the same 'zé' sound is merely a matter of memorization. In the lesson, we go over the lesson and learn several words that make use of it.
