Use a purple conditioner instead!!! You can leave it on longer without damaging your hair. When i had platinum hair i would often put the conditioner on before bed, put a shower cap on and go to sleep then rinse it out in the morning. Conditioner is also easier to evenly apply throughout the hair.

I’m a hair stylist and I can tell you it is possible to turn your hair purple with purple shampoo. Some of them can be very strong. I would usually mix with regular shampoo preferably a moisturizing shampoo just in case. Purple shampoo is basically a toner with shampoo. It might not be as dark, probably more toward lavender. If you want purple without damage try Overtone.

If your hair was platinum I’m guessing bleach was used, which opened the pores more causing yours to be purple. Also some purple shampoos are stronger than others. Using a purple shampoo on regular blonde hair can tone it down sometimes to a platinum or sometimes grabbing at certain parts turning it to a lavender.
Both the purple and tinsel is the clip in extensions. I do belive that if your hair is already very white and extremely porus it might can give a little purplish tint but it absolutely won't do purple streaks that bright ever
if you do it again i suggest you wet your hair first, then put the shampoo in, should get all spots then! maybe put a plastic bag over so you dont risk it spilling on anything! :)

You need a real brand forst of all and to wet your hair with warm water, then suds it in, then put plastic cap on it, then sit under dryer or buy those bags you hook to blowdryer, sit for 60min, then rinse in cold water. Theres even a "bleach wash" where you mix very low volume like 5 in with purple shampoo. Cap hair, sit w/o heat for 20min. Then rinse in cold water. You will have white/purple hair that lasts and fully covers all hair

If you want it to be white or purple I highly recommend using the brand Ice Cream's purple shampoo, I have money pieces in my hair that are legit glow in the dark white. If I leave it in for like 10 minutes on dry hair it quite literally is purpley white. I left it on for 25 minutes once when I was trying to neutralize a rose gold balayage I had, and my hair was literally VIOLET.

There’s more colours than just purple too!! You can have even more fun with that! Some are toners like the one you used and others act a little more like dye, just weaker, there’s also conditioner versions of both as well ♥️

It does work to a degree, i used to do this with silver hairmasks instead of shampoo over my grey/silver dyed hair n let it sit for a few hours to tone it and have a light purple hue on it. Tones and masks can leave a purple hue/tint on the hair but it really depends on the brand, your hair type, if its bleached/ how damaged it is etc
It would help massively to tie a plastic bag around your hair to keep the mask from drying out. Not to mention purple conditioner would be better than purple shampoo for a mask. It shouldn't take 5 hours. Usually you only need 1/2 an hour to at least achieve platinum if you do all the things correctly.
If you want more pigment that washes out well, I highly recommend color lux lavender conditioner. It doesn't last very long but it comes out more pigmented at first. Do a test strand before you commit if you're worried!

in my experience, those strips of purple/white will wash out in days. have you tried toner instead? way stronger and more permanent results in less time
If you add a small amount of purple deposit dye like manic panic or directions it will probably work better, and since its a deposit dye its essentially just pigment and conditioner so it won't damage your hair
I recomend to grab a bowl with enough water to rinse the hair in one go (obviously the hair has to be wet) and mix with the purple shampoo so the color gets to everywhere
Just you actual color shampoo to get purple hair. This kind of purple shampoo is to remove brassiness from blondes. You can get a “color wash” shampoo in many different shades for a temporary deposit only color.
Try damping your hair with warm to hot water first before putting the purple in and lathering it like a shampoo. It'll spread a bit easier and the pores in your hair will open with the heat and allow more colour in
Some of the salon grade stuff does that level of dye in less than 10 minutes. As a dog groomer who uses whitening shampoos, when they say 5 minutes, they mean 5 minutes. Haha
I used to do this and the upkeep to maintain platinum white is a lot! For context I also have fine extremely straight hair. I would basically wash with purple shampoo and conditioner every time I took a shower to keep it as bright as possible. It is really hard to fully saturate with the shampoo because it’s really thick and it doesn’t spread around very much, but the conditioner has a weaker color output. I would recommend trying on damp hair to help the product move around more and keep it from drying up, as that will prevent the color from being absorbed. A bag over your head can also help keep in the moisture. If you like living life on the edge, you can leave it overnight but be warned this is a wonderful way to stain your bedsheets. It will wash out, though…. Eventually.
Wash your hair with warm water so the hair opens up. Then apply the Shampoo with a bit of water in it. Water is 0 peroxide and helps activate the shampoo. Then just leave it in, bit cover it with plastic and a towel so it stays warm. Hope it helps...
Put this on dry hair, wrap your entire hair in plastic foil and then sleep with it on. Yes the effect is different to if you’d just leave it in during the day because your hair stays warm if you lay on it. Wash it out in the morning and add a hair mask or good conditioner after to rehydrate your hair.
I did this too. I decided that at the end of May Im just gonna grow out my hair but I also tired of my platinum hair and wanted it purple. So on May 31st I woke up and bought some purple shampoo and conditioner. Got home and put both in my hair. Had it in my hair and covered with a shower cap ALL day. Slept in it which was probably the hardest part. June 1st woke up and kept it in til around noon and washed it out. My shower was also stained purple. And omg it worked. My hair was a beautiful lilac/lavender tone. And since I didnt use all the shampoo or conditioner, i still use it when I shower. I just leave it in until the end of the shower and rinse it out. And its still lavender. But you can tell my sandy blond roots arent taking in the purple color as much as the parts that were bleached platinum lol
It stains lighter colors if left straight for hair colors level 8 to 10+ unless its needed for toning doesnt hurt to dilute it half and half with water.. I love toner shampoos u should try blue next lol. Will wash out in a couple shampoos too. Cute..purples always cute.👌💕

My friend's older sibling left it in overnight and it dyed their hair purple so maybe try doing it over night

try saturating your hair in sections. it’ll help the color come through evenly 😊
You should try this with Matrix brass off (it has more of a blue undertone to tone the more warm colors in your hair)

Wash your hair with warm water so the hair opens up. Then apply the Shampoo with a bit of water in it. Water is 0 peroxide and helps activate the shampoo. Then just leave it in, bit cover it with plastic and a towel so it stays warm. Hope it helps...

Put this on dry hair, wrap your entire hair in plastic foil and then sleep with it on. Yes the effect is different to if you’d just leave it in during the day because your hair stays warm if you lay on it. Wash it out in the morning and add a hair mask or good conditioner after to rehydrate your hair.

I did this too. I decided that at the end of May Im just gonna grow out my hair but I also tired of my platinum hair and wanted it purple. So on May 31st I woke up and bought some purple shampoo and conditioner. Got home and put both in my hair. Had it in my hair and covered with a shower cap ALL day. Slept in it which was probably the hardest part. June 1st woke up and kept it in til around noon and washed it out. My shower was also stained purple. And omg it worked. My hair was a beautiful lilac/lavender tone. And since I didnt use all the shampoo or conditioner, i still use it when I shower. I just leave it in until the end of the shower and rinse it out. And its still lavender. But you can tell my sandy blond roots arent taking in the purple color as much as the parts that were bleached platinum lol
It would help more if you used a cap. The cap would hold the heat inside which helps the product absorb into the hair shaft.
It stains lighter colors if left straight for hair colors level 8 to 10+ unless its needed for toning doesnt hurt to dilute it half and half with water.. I love toner shampoos u should try blue next lol. Will wash out in a couple shampoos too. Cute..purples always cute.👌💕
