- Today @creatingwithcassie is so excited to stitch out the April 2024 block, aka The Flag Block, from ME Time Delivered's Perfectly Pieced subscription. This is a full stitch-out tutorial, so grab your fabric, embroidery machine, thread, and embroidery files from ME Time Delivered, and let's get stitching!
What makes this block unique:
This block is so cute! I love fun Americana projects, and this one is so easy and adorable. It also has a lot of options. You can make the block and stop after it is quilted and not do the applique start. OR you can add the applique start to really show off that Americana part of this block. This video features the 6" block, but it can be made in a 2, 4, 6, and 8" block, depending on the hoop size of your embroidery machine.

I love this monthly flag block. I made the 8" size and want to now add the border...I was hoping there was a quilting file for this border. However it calls for a 1 1/2" cut, which would end up being a 1" border and I only see a quilting file for 2 1/2" border. Do you have any suggestions for the 1" border? Also, would I add stabilizer and KB batting so that it will be the same thickness??? Thank you.
Me Time often doesn't include a 1" border design, and in their samples they don't quilt the one Inch border. If you wanted to quilt it I would look and see if they did include one any of the months (I can't remember if they ever did) or check out Kimberbell's background quilting files. If not quilting the 1" border I would add the batting and use your spray adhesive to make the batting stick until you had it sewn into your project. I think you'd be okay without the stabilizer since it is so thin anyway.
