I hate that sport is politicized but the fact of the matter is, since the 1936 Olympics in Berlin, it is. Mexico City 1968, Munich 1972, Moscow 1980, Los Angeles 1984, Sochi 2014, etc.. Athletes become the pawns.

Yeah Hitler shook Jesse Owen's hand, but Roosevelt never even sent him a telegram saying "congrats". I met Owens at an Ohio State event once and was able to ask him about this. He said it's completely accurate.

They aren’t allowed at the Olympics.. that sucks. When has the USA ever been held away from the Olympics for being in a conflict. I bet I can’t find other countries in conflict right now that will be at the Olympics. What a petty way to flex your power over global politics. Oh well, I hope Russian athletes can find some way to compete.

Flo needs to start the pro league. They already have the paid subscription. Even if they bumped it up $50/year and then included all the pro league fights it would be worth it. There’s a lot of big money out there that wants to see wrestling. If there’s NIL money, then there’s more where that came from

Yeah why is wrestling considered "Amateur wrestling". That doesn't even make sense. It's elite, world class talent that can out condition any other sport in the planet. What's "amateur" about that?

Why else will the US win 3 or 4 medals? Because the Russians aren’t there….if the were, they would win 6 Greco and 5 FS medals.

?? If Marine Le Pen would have been President of France, then no Olympic Games? I thought that the point of the Olympic Games is *TO PUT POLITICS ASIDE* ..... so maybe rename this thing to *THE POLITICAL GAMES* so that way we know. Anycountries that President Biden/Harris (USA) does not like is AUTOMATICALLY out of the Olympic Games. Maybe put a banner so that it is clear!!??

A point I might add about the U.S. Going to Vietnam, vs Russia “visiting” Ukraine is that Vietnam was fairly split among U.S. involvement in the war. 95% of Ukrainians want Russia out. You could ask the same question for Afghanistan and Iraq too and your answer would be the same. Russia isn’t in Ukraine for liberation.

We bombed and killed over 1 million Vietnamese civilians. I doubt it was 50/50 South Vietnamese in support of the war.US started that war and we started the Ukraine war which dates back to 2014. Read your history

@@billpryor8764Although I’d agree with you about Vietnam, Iraq, and Afghanistan, you’re wrong about Ukraine. Russia invaded Ukraine. Is there competition between Russia and the U.S.? Absolutely. But, Putin’s excuse that the west wants take over Russia by being on its borders is silly. There are nato countries on Russia’s borders and now, because of the invasion, there are even more. Let’s also not forget that Russia’s alley China, has many of the same goals. Undermine western democracies and increase economic and military dominance. The fact is that the majority of Ukrainians want nothing to do with Russia.

@@billpryor8764 if you think the USA started the Russian invasion by simply adding countries to nato as a form of defense you might have autism. Look at all the countries around Russia when they don’t join nato. Georgia invaded, Ukraine invaded, Chechnya invaded. Like be real.
