    Oh wow this seems simpler than the other 3d tails I have seen with many layers/base/fill etc. This came in perferct for my current project which has many tentacles lol

      Agree wish I saw this before drawing my tail lol 😂😅 I split it into like 7 pieces so this doesn’t work now. I did it the hard way moving each pine by one def doesn’t look as nice. I’m thinking of redoing it

    Больше спасибо, теперь я смогу применить полученные знания для создания модели с пучком щупалец вместо головы

    You somehow always have the exact tutorials I need for my next projects! Can't wait to try this!

    This is so useful! I'd love to know if you have a way of making 3d tails with multiple layers (for example, the shading moving around for a symmetrical tail as it sways back and forth)

      That's next on my list actually!
      I already have a free tutorial asset out to demo how it works though if you'd like to peek in the meantime -> ko-fi.com/s/ba244ef8e5

    Thank you very much, the video is great!!
    Do you think this will work well with a tail that has any patterns or gradients on it, or will it stretch out too much?

    • @Horsaz
      @Horsaz 11 месяцев назад

      you could make the texture/gradient/pattern a separate art mesh and then copy ID it to the base tail! just make sure to edit it to the keyframes in such a way so it doesn't look wonky👍

      @@Horsaz It will probably be quite difficult to adjust the mask layer when using skinning :(

      @Horsaz 11 месяцев назад

      @@rinacchi7216 it would? :0 I can't imagine it'd be that difficult with skinnning
      now tbf I havent tried this 3d tail technique yet so I'll see if I have to eat my own words in the future lol

      The texture of the tail in the video is neat like a line. If the tail has a pattern, create the mesh that follows the shape of the pattern. If there is a heart or star on the tail, create its shape and then move it

    • @CutieDragon

      It'd be a lot easier for pattern tails to be done with a symmetrical tail rather than asymmetrical! Depending on how the gradient is setup it can also work with this technique (as you'd be tweaking the entire layer anyway)
      Depending on how a pattern is setup it could work but you might find it stretches more than you'd like - I'm planning to make a guide on symmetrical tails that would work better in that case ^^
      tldr; Tail rigging tends to be very case dependent xD
