I don't know how this band has so perfectly captured how I'm feeling as I rapidly approach 30. I drove to my home town not so long ago and and the city has finally torn down a condemned building that was always a landmark growing up. They'd done it sooner time ago but it was news to me. Really strikes home how even something as immutable and fixed as your childhood is so temporary
I just turned 40 and I'm definitely not in the same position my mom was when she was 40 and I was 16. My kids are 17 and 16, and even though I'm technically "grown" in so many ways I'm growing up with them. 40 now is not what 40 was.

We still have boomers trying to run our lives for us and blaming us for everything that goes wrong. Many of us still live with our parents one way or another. We really are stuck in that limbo and we're only just now kind of breaking out of it.
