I recently discovered this song, but I've already listened to it about 20 times. I think this is the best version. I also ordered the CD. I would buy this edition too if it was available.
amazing how great his voice sounds just like he did in the 60's. love the simplicity to the songs, and the original lead in uno dos , one two three quatro.... love it.
Why isn't Wooly Bully in that YT video of the top 100 from 1965? Maybe no footage from back then? They had 2 from Herman's Hermits! Give me a break! Thanks for posting this as antidote to today's malaise; so glad to see them going strong 30 years later. On a youth hostel tour of Europe in 1965 I remember a Dutch kid trying to sing Woooly Booley.
1964? I saw Sam the Sham and the Pharaohs at the Daytona Beach pier. I went with my brother. My mother bought us leisure suits. Only 14 yrs old my brother was 16. We were from Orlando. I was dancing with a girl (13yrs) she was from Daytona Beach . Unbelievable.
Samudio played a lunchtime concert in the on campus ampitheater when I was attending Santa Monica City College in the early 70s. As here, the Pharaos didn't appear with the ''Egyptian look''.
I have loved this song very much when I have listened to it as a young child in Croatia. I also have had a sound vision of it some time before it has been released. In many similar cases the interval between my perception of the song and her being published is many years so that I don’t doubt my memories about it. In this case I am less sure. But it doesn’t matter. The truth is that those song have existed in previous incarnations also. It is a life of effort, many such lives. I think Sam is incarnation of Salieri, the Italian composer and contemporary of Mozart. For a moment it seamed that he might be emperor Joseph. Would like to know what he thinks. The song is seemingly simple but it is not easy for me put out all of my thoughts about it.
Love the song but not this version . He is totaly off beat a few times which the guys in the band were quick enough to pick up on. 0:45 and 1:06 then i stopped it. Better version where he actually keeps time Pv5cXss5cPg
