I love this setting! I was just talking to a fellow artist yesterday and we were commenting on how we were “scared” to try to set a trillion. Now I think I could do it after watching you, Chad. Thank you for sharing your skills!!
Thank you so much for doing this tutorial Chad,it covered both the trillion stone and the bezel with prongs, which is exactly what I needed. Thank you. Question:when you said you did a notch in the sheet for the bezel ,did you just notch it top and bottom or did you go from the top to the bottom. I know its probably a dumb question but im still very much a novice.
I use a knife edge white silicone abrasive wheel to shape the ends, and then use a blue (fine) knife edge silicone wheel to finish smoothing the prongs. Have to be a little careful to avoid the stone:)
@@SoleilMagica Hmm. Could be right. My wife immediately snagged it and has been wearing it constantly. I can observe how it wears and see how it holds up:)
Hello chad; you never show exactly, how do smooth out the three prongs! I thibk, round prongs must very smooth out on this sider, what ist exactly holding the stone in place. To set a trillon stone is very difficulty to hold on the stone Günther Michael Clemenz !!!!!!!

Thanks Jean:). Glad I could help!
That's so spot on! I've just bought a very beautiful trillion amethyst, but purple. This type of setting is new to me
Send a pic to my Instagram if you make something with it! I'd love to see it:)
@@chadssilversmithing sure, when I'll finish. I'm a bit of a slow pacer :)
I had no idea that amethyst can be green. Pretty stone. You explained why the stone is green. My favorite color is green.
Heat treating it makes it light green apparently:). A lot of Citrine on the market is created from Amethyst as well similarly from what I understand.
Very informative and inspiring! 👍 Thanks for sharing, Chad!
Thank you Alexsar! Its my pleasure:)
I love wat you teach im just getting into wire wrapping and trying to learn how to make accents
@@Brandondarius22 Thanks Brandonarius:)

Thank you Jay! The notches were from the top to the bottom. No such thing as a dumb question:)
@@chadssilversmithing thanks Chad
Would love to see what tools you use on your dremel to work those prongs. I'm affraid of scratching the stone.

@@chadssilversmithing thank you 😊 I don't have any of those, but I'll look for them. I only have those cup burs to round the ends of prongs.
It's stunning, but i feel like the prongs were a little too thin for such a big stone.

@@guntherclemenz7416 Hello Günther. If you look at my response to Elin, I mention the two abrasive wheels I use to smooth them out. Hope this helps:)
Where did you get that dropper for the flux?
Hello Sacred Sounds! It was given to me, but similar droppers can be purchased on Amazon.
