Vito, thanks so much for loving the w124! I have two of them and love them as well. I’m so happy you saved it. These cars are so worthy of saving!! I wish more people had the mid set like you do to try and save old Mercedes.
Thanks for saving it, it's a really sweet color exterior and interior, I just don't understand why someone would trash a car like that...
I see that the window regulator is bolted in which makes them so easy to replace.
They used rivets on my 01 e320. I've had to replace three of mine. I hate rivets! Now one of the ones I replaced broke again and I bought one months ago but just have not wanted to put it in.
I loved those straight 6s, gas or diesel. I had an 85 300d turbodiesel several years ago. It was unbreakable.
That looks like a pretty good car.
I just remembered. The diesel was 5 cylinders, not 6. Still good engine.
You can replace the rivets with regular bolts and nuts. It’s easy

That's crazy. My W124 isn't in this good of shape. Mine is rusted badly from Canadian winters. How can someone scrap a car this good. I'd do anything to get a rust free version like this.

that is a great Car, I have 2 w124's. Both of them are '87 300D and 300TD. I am getting mad at them but they are great cars. The SD Diesel you drove with over 500K miles on it that OM617 Diesel engine is the best diesel they made. That is a Tank and bullet proof. Just need to keep it maintained.
OM617 is one of the best engines in the world. That W126 is doing good. My friend owns it now. She’s alive, I’ll make a video sometime.
Put all your love to these machines. They don’t make them like they used to!

Thank you for saving such an amazing car! I own a W124 and have fixed a lot on it. Had a body shop repair some rust and install new rocker panels. Now I'm working on getting the radio to work again, says an E2 error but the fuses on the amp and head unit are good, it may be the gray cable linking the two. Also just realized my neutral safety switch is why my car doesn't start in real cold weather, thought it was the starter solenoid, but that didn't fix it. Found I can start in neutral in the cold, and since my reverse lights stopped working, it seems to be the neutral safety switch. Also the vacuum pump doesn't turn off when I lock the doors, and the time-out for the pump only kicks in when the engine is off. Not sure if it's a leaking lock actuator or what.
But now I got a perfectly working (used) W124 starter motor on hand, if you are ever near Pennsylvania Vito, maybe you can come by and help me with some of my car problems and I will give you that starter motor in return?
Beautiful car, esp the color combo. The W124 was an over engineered Mercedes. I am kicking myself for selling my W124 wagon... It was a lot of work, but it drove well and cruised down the freeway beautifully.. Best of luck....

had this car, back when, in black, very quiet after basic tune up, ran great, very smooth ride, straight six is easy to work on big trunk, lots of room in rear

Wow. what a good price. Where I live you get for the same price only something with lots of rust. This one looks really good. 188k miles is no problem for m103 engine.
I don’t look at the mileage when buying old school cars. They all deserve to live. Mileage means nothing to me

What junkyard did you buy this car from? Was it an lkq yard? Those are the only junkyards in my state sadly.
