Isn't wood cookstove at home better? You get heat to your home same time and save oil/electricity (what ever is you energy source). You dont have to go many years backwards when wood cookstove was the only way to make food.

That is true.We have found when you are cooking you have to be there anyway and controlling the wood feed rate is how the temperatures of the griddle and the oven controlled. It also simplifies building the stove and keeping the cost of production down.
Actually, I'd rather pay attention to the food I'm cooking, not poking the ruddy wood in the side.

This is very nice. The price would make it great for commercial and yuppies but a bit out of range for the (puppies - poor urban professionals).

The best thing one could do if one had truly honuorable intentions towards your fellow man would be to make the plans available for a low fee or even free. This way more people could prepare for the coming crisis.
+24revealer I would if I could but I am not in a position where I can do that. I hope you can get a stove so you can provide for your family when things go south. You might consider putting together a group (family and or friends) to make it easier on the wallet. If someone moves out, the others could buy them out. Because these stoves will cook for so many people, it would be no problem to feed all the members of your buying group plus others.

Just use a stick to clean it out. With experience you will be able to burn for 3 or 4 hours and have only a handful or two of ash. I do not clean out the rocket stoves. I just burn the ash in the next firing. Thanks for asking.

how long would a cord of wood last being used 24/7
The stove burns about one 5 gallon bucket of kindling every hour. There is roughly one cubic foot in a 5 gallon bucket ( lots of variables here, what kind of wood, crooked sticks or straight cut kindling, etc.). There are 128 cubic feet in a cord of wood. Theoretically, a cord of wood would last 128 hours, again lots of variables. It has been my experience that I can cook enough food to feed 100 people using 3 buckets of kindling. That works out to 33 meals an hour x 128 hours = 4,224 meals in one cord of wood. I have only fed 100 people once and that was in a tremendous rain storm with gusting winds. We cooked 300 sausage patties, 36 dozen eggs, about 250 pancakes ( I did not count them)and 22 pounds of hash browns. The 2 propane griddles that were intended to cook breakfast did not cook anything. They could not keep their fires lit. When we made our video roasting the turkey we used 3.5 buckets of kindling and roasted a 12.5 pound turkey, cooked 6 steaks, 2 pounds of stir fried veggies, 2 pounds of french fries, one pound of sweet potato fries (very good) and made 400 pancakes and it was snowing, blowing and the temperature was 22F. Thank you for the question. I had not really thought about it before. Again, there are an infinite number of variables and this is just a calculated guess. It would be interesting to know how many cords of wood would be required to cook 4,224 meals on an open campfire. I would guess more than one. Happy cooking.
how do you clean the ashes
just use a stick. With practice there will not be much ash to clean out. I just leave it in and burn it out the next time I use the stove.

The idea is a good one. Not original but still a good idea. The design is bad. Its way to big and bulky for an emergency stove. Its too big to justify putting in your house if it's not getting used regularly. Someone could easily design a smaller more portable one that could still have a cook top and oven and still make a profit with a price of $500 each. Your stove is as big and bulky and poorly designed as the $5,000 price tag that goes with it. Unless you have a truck and a lot of help you are not moving this stove anywhere in an emergency when you need to use it. So if you want to use it you have to stay where it is even if that's a bad place to be staying.
ok when the power goes out you start sticking junk crap in the stove if you have it the freezer good spoils in the first week? cook for 100 ? no. if the power is out for months cooking food will attract the deviants bad people ? dried foods canned goods +++hunt for meat++ you have to run a table saw to cut all those little wood bits? run a generator for wood bits / waste fuel on that as a novelty ok kool but say if there's a calamity yous start up a fire you will get the desperate ////build the wall ?/// yepee you guess it total anarchy and you dished out $$ for a stove you cant lite up unless you are way out in the woods are you ?

Wow! This is amazing. To think of being able to feed so many people using so little wood for fuel! When you see all the disasters occurring nowadays, you can see this would be worth its weight in gold for any community if the power were to be disrupted, or even go away with an EMP event. I'm going to recommend this to my extended family.

I like your design. But do you have anything where the exhaust comes out the bottom? double pipes it could work for two clay cob benches. it just seems like a waste of heat otherwise.

Design a smaller one out of titainium that you can stack rocks around to absorb all the heat generated and market it has an emergency stove.

We have 3 models; 2x4 foot griddle with 3 foot wide oven, a 2x3 foot griddle with a 2 foot wide oven and the 3rd model is a 2x2 foot griddle with no oven. Thanks for asking.

Are you making these to heat water for radiant heat? Do you sell them here in Chile?
To heat water for radiant heating I would recommend a Rocket Thermal Mass Heater. Go on RUclips and spend some time looking at the many excellent videos on how to build such a heater. Mine are designed to feed people and they do it very well. In my wood shop I like to get the best tool for the job. Heating a house and cooking for your family or neighborhood are best accomplished by two different type rocket stoves. We are looking into exporting our stoves. If you are interested send me your name and mailing address and we can talk about it.
A rocket thermal mass heater would be better for radiant heating. Lots of ideas on youtube about how to build one. We do not sell in Chile. Sorry.
Do you have any plans to add a "Batch box" for a loader so it only needs loading once for hours? That would help acceptance.
+Scott Cepek We have looked at making it self feeding but have rejected the idea for a number of reasons. The foremost is a large increase in the cost of manufacturing which would increase the price of the stove. Thanks for thinking about us.

These stoves are not meant for use in an rv. The little one weighs 400 pounds and has 2 6 inch smoke stacks. You might consider looking on RUclips or Amazon to find something smaller that might work for you.
An indoor rocket stove is what you're looking for. Liberator and Zaug are the only two commercially available Rocket Stove's for indoor use to my knowledge. The Zaug is way too big and heavy for an RV IMO.
I do not recommend mine for use in a rv, they weigh 700 pounds. Thanks for looking.
