Great video. If I have a DBA under my LLC, who should payments be made to? The LLC name or the DBA?
One year and still no reply. Not much help hu? Well you can accept payments to both since you have both.
1.Assuming your bank account and credit card(if u have one) are under your LLC. So you wanna do the same for receiving payments.
2.I say LLC since you have legal protection under your LLC.
If you do business with Nike would you feel right writing out a check to Toys R Us? Neither would I. So why have a DBA if you're not accepting payments as the DBA? If you do business as the LLC name then accept payments to the LLC. If you do business as the DBA then accept payments to the DBA name. The bank is aware that both go into the same LLC account. It's all the same. But I would use just one or the other to keep it clear unless you're selling different products under different names.

If I'm the owner of "General Company, LLC", but I'm running a website called "JaredsFitness.com" and I have a DBA "Jared's Fitness" registered with the state, do I need to have "General Company, LLC" in the footer of the website or on any Terms of Service pages on the website? Or can i just put "Jared's Fitness" in the website footer and leave "General Company, LLC" completely off the website? THANKS!

So , in the US , most citizens are in fact conducting all commercial transactions under their "trade name," ie the "full legal name' in all CAPS. Also , going to prison for their Trade name, going to war for their trade name...
Hello...so my daughter has her business registered as a LLC we have a 2 other businesses that we wanted to add to it. They are 2 different lines we can go ahead and register the tradename as"the name" By "company name" or just the business name alone? The 2 other businesses will be insured on their own. Thank you!

Hey, I plan to buy a business called XYZ and use it's name as a DBA. I have a LLC called ABC. I plan to register XYZ with SOS under ABC. If customers write checks payable to the DBA will I be able to cash them? You do great work. Love your personality. You should think about relocating to South Carolina, you'll never have to worry about shoveling snow.
Is it necessary to file at the state level when you are a sole proprietor or partnership? I thought you just need to file in the county clerk office.

Good day Aiden. I'm sure my question has been asked somewhere underneath the long list of questions, but wanted to get your opinion on something. I have a PLLC and would like to create a DBA underneath it. First, do I go to my Secretary of State to "link" the DBA to the PLLC? Second, if I receive payment from a consumer using my DBA company, should they make it out to the DBA or PLLC? I only have one type of business and would prefer to keep all the funds in the same banking account and EIN. I would greatly appreciate your advice.

Yes, but that can be a very complicated situation. You’ll definitely want to talk to a good CPA about the tax implications and work with an attorney to prepare the operating agreement.

What if recently I registered with the state as a sole proprietor using my real name but also picked a trade name. But now I want to change the trade name a few days after I registered. Hello! Can you have an LLC in one state, say Texas, can you then start a business in another state, say California, under a different trade name but fall under the LLC in Texas. Does that make sense?

Hi, I have my DBA (Trade Name) in Iowa recorded at my county Clerks office in the County I live in. If any other Corporation uses my Trade Name in any way are they liable to be sued, esp. if they are making money and contracting with it fraudulently? As you know this happens everyday in Court cases and Child Support etc.
dba only covers your name in the county you registered in. there can be several other businesses with your same name all over the state/united states, but not in the same county. if you move to another city/county, you have re-register your business there as well.

Nope, usually no need for a DBA if you're going to operate under the name of the LLC.
