Perfect timing; I’ve been wanting to make a Tetsuo deck, but, as I’m still an amateur at deck-building, I didn’t know where to start (I mean, aside from the commander, and that it needs equipment)
Some awesome equipment cards I’ve found for Tetsuo are Robe of the Archmagi and Reaver cleaver. Also, in the interest of it being faster, Kedis is a great creature to throw in.
@@GuysThatMagic that’s good to know! My play testing of Tetsuo is limited to like 3 games and I drew Kedis pretty early on in two of the games so I’m sure that’s where my bias is coming from.
Probably my favorite dominaria champion because its a difficult puzzle. There is part of me thats wants to say screw the small equipment and spells…lets get kaldra compleat and go big lol. Some other cards that could be good. Sword coast sailor, jeska thrice reborn, cecily/eleven who has card draw/ a combat based spellslinging trigger. Ive also noticed ppl trying to make double vision, arcane bombardment etc to back up/get more value from tetsuos free casts.
I feel like this is missing an opportunity to play Strionic Resonator and Lithoform Engine to get double burn triggers for 2 mana which in a deck this low to the ground is very affordable. Also the lack of a Conqueror's Flail seems like a really easy add here so your opponents cant respond to any shenanigans you attempt to do on your turns.
I just built this deck overnight with what I had in my collection! I'm missing decent equipment for the deck, and undecided whether to go for samurai tribal or legendary tribal 🥲
I appreciate the restraint of not just jamming in Swords of and winning with 3 drops on turn 5-6.

I think it's really important to play equipment with Low Equip costs... Grixis has little to no effects that cheat equipment onto creatures.

CMC at 4 is the sweetspot. That way Tetsuo has 1000s of spells he can sling/duplicate and deathtouch + lifelink can snipe most creatures
Anything that lessens the cost of activated abilities on your artifacts will help with equipping easily. We've got great access to flash as well.

Had Kediss in early playtesting but felt like there were just better options. -David

Kediss did a ton of work for me. I would absolutely recommend kediss in this deck.
Hey you mentioned that you can really up the up the powerlevel of this deck with better spells, what spells would those be?

Does Tetsuo's triggered ability allow you to cast a sorcery from you hand, without cards like leyline of anticipation or vedelken orrery?

Jeska Thrice Reborn is a great include, also thought about including things like Hatred to potentially one shot a player. -David
