有用的教程! After installing, the icon didn't appear in the gnome system tray and the hotkeys also didn't work for me so here's how I solved it in case someone encounters the same problem I did:
- My locale.gen was misconfigured so I had to configure it properly and run locale-gen
- Add "fcitx &" at the bottom of the ~/.pam-environment file so that fcitx runs on startup
- I installed gnome-shell-extension-kimpanel-git from the AUR, once I've done that I logged out then enabled the extension from the gnome-extensions app
