I watched David Foster and Friends concert with Charice in Manila and other international famous artist and Arnel Pineda was in the audience .. And David Foster was picking random people to sing and he saw Arnel Pineda and he ask Arnel to sing which he happily complied to DFf's request and wow ... His voice was really amazing when he sings live.

I’d enjoy Ariel’s voice and singing much more if you stopped repeating the same parts of the song over and over. I love Ariel’s voice and I’m sure the people of the Phillippiles love him (so do I) but stop the repeating so I can enjoy it. A little goes a long way with Ariel, especially after 14 years he still rules Journey.
You're right about his raspiness being natural because even his speaking voice is the same.
