I don't think a lot of people realize how truly difficult this piece is to play. It's VERY fast and requires a lot of precision, and then the quick changes in dynamics from piano to fortissimo in a split second while speeding through runs of sixteenths is extremely challenging. Major props to this orchestra for being more than up to the challenge!
Fantastic! And a big thank you to the videographers and editor for allowing us to observe the entire orchestra performing as one, especially during the most dramatic portions of the piece. This seems to be a logical thing to do, but you will never see it in other orchestra videos. They always focus on tight shots of this or that instrument section and completely lose the concept that, while the orchestra is is comprised of individuals, it is one organic entity. And your videos allows us to see and enjoy that.
I have never heard the William Tell Overture played "better" or with more heart than this, by any orchestra of professional musicians. I can hardly believe these are high school kids.
Neighborhood. Forced busing doesn't happen anymore.. When I was in High School almost 50 years ago they had to bus black kids 15 miles while passing another high school to get us to the required minimum 12% black school population (county was 20%). Some states now have a form of school choice, if you want to travel that far, you can if the school district can work it out, but it's not forced, so you don't have to get on a bus before 6am.
Rossini would have swelled with pride to see and hear these young folk. Amazing genius all around.

Wow this can't be a high school orchestra. They are too good. Great job

Outstanding performance by a high school orchestra performing in a wonderful hall
Bravo
It's amazing that a public school could have this level of education and opportunities for the kids. Indeed, America is the land of opportunity.
And money
Check out those numerous youth orchestras from Poland. They are amazing.
it's astonishing that a HIGH SCHOOL orchestra has the skill/talent and passion to play this piece!
A great performance by young artists.
I remember playing in my high school orchestra.
I don't remember sounding even close to this professional. 😆
This is the most nuances and smoothest performance I have ever heard; Well done.

wonderful ensemble--but they wouldn't be that without a terrific conductor! She's G R E A T !!
Perhaps its the orchestra AND the conductor! I think so.
This made me so happy this morning 🎉 Thank you ❤
Nice: I like that bass t-bone!!
Who else is headbanging to this during Christmas 2019?
Amazing kids.
Out.Standing. Bravo!
There is no way this is a high school orchestra!! Wow
Simplesmente lindo 👏👏👏!
Goosebumps
High School wow! WOW
I came for 5:42. Man do I looooove that yakety oboe!
I think that's an English horn being played here.
When you realize that this is a high school...
BRAVO! BRAVO! BRAVO! ! ! ! !
Excellent job!
I performed the Mozart Requiem on this stage. Sold out house.
Well done SAMOHI!!!!
and stupid dog tricks go viral while this doesn't. I weep for humanity. (p.s. I love dogs)
There is something wrong with the trumpets. They sound "apart" from the rest of the instruments.
For the part you came for 8:16
+ae86takumi I came for it all!
But yeah I mainly came for that part.
thx squire !
I love the part before that, with the oboes and flutes. such beautiful melodic sentences, so logically built one on the other.
Lmao ty
Hi Ho Silver!
Well done!
Pas mal
I like the young lad on the trumpet straight in front. I think he is cute
I like the Asian dude playing first viola just to the left of the conductor--his concentration is damned sexy!
Hi yo Silver!
Bugs Bunny entrance at 8:16......
Okay l think?!
He must be somewhere in the audience. Mask and all !
disturbing camera work lacking continuity = great performance but Rossini is also about the spectacle
Are these Americans? I don't think it represents the overall American population. Was there discrimination? I don't see any black kids.

I want to hear that organ being played
