As to childhood experiences from prior generations, kids spending all day outside, in the playground, neighborhood, etc. without parental supervision was common. Parenting and child development and growth issues are way different now. We need to view his experiences in that context.
Saw the film today. Unfortunately it's very choppy as it jumps back and forth from one story and back to another and then another. It would have been nice to see a bit more food and a shot of a menu or two. Tower comes off well. When he walks around a dilapidated apartment the voice over is about fixing up Stars. There is a brief mention of this being the third one and then it goes on the market. It seems to have nothing to do with anything. Assume he fixed up spaces in Mexico and sold them but that's just a guess. The same confusion is around why Stars closed which is intercut with the Tavern on the Green story. Still like him but the film needs to be recut in part. I"m hoping he has some teaching videos soon so people can access how he works.
@@ashleylopo4164, how do you NOT know? To know the man, is to know that Bourdain had zero impetus to snuff out his life, and every reason to survive and thrive.
@@petemoss8522 well, he talked about depression and suicide a whole lot in his shows (and books), i think, just because everybody (including me) thinks he had a wonderful life does not mean he was a stable guy.
@@billiebergmann471 Bourdain was.an extremely punctual person. His best friend, Eric Ripert, was kept waiting, not once, but twice, with plans to rendezvous for meals. The fact that Anthony never called ahead (or just prior to his demise) to say he'd be late or a no-show, is not his ethic or practice. When I say he's this way to an extreme, I've watched every interview I could get access to, and when you realize this about him, you know something is amiss. I love how people defend his suicide, and try to convince everyone that because Bourdain was frank about his depression, that this is proof-positive of his choice to end his life. He's dead. He can't explain anything, except to know what he felt and believed while still alive. Even if he committed this supreme act of selfishness, he would've let Ripert know not to expect him for breakfast or dinner.
Another Liberal bastion falls. And to him--and it gives us an excellent idea of their moral code--it was a "Groucho moment" to say off microphone: Sounds like how I treat my staff. Yeah, very Groucho, indeed!
A really great documentary! Jeremiah is a GIANT!

We sure miss him a lot 😍😍😍
I miss this show

Bourdain was a great man
why did his hair go so white, and his skin go so dark, was he sick?
Exhausted
Um, he was 59 years old
No one realizes that Asia Argento put a contract out on Anthony because she wanted to marry him and he was reluctant. Sad.
Oh, get real!
Anthony was killed, ask Elon Musk!!!
moemoe free how do you know
That's what I think!
