Great design! I think the square fuzzy one is my favorite too! I would do them with string around the button instead of bands around them because rubber hardens and breaks over time. Even wrapping string or thread around them would be pretty quick. I will definitely look for some of that scrim!
Yes twine would last longer but I was thinking why there's lots of wire that doesn't rust and that would last for a long time then you could make the wire longer and wrap some green flower tape around it and make a flower that has a stem oh boy you really inspired me can't wait to make these I wish I could show them to you
This is BRILLIANT!!! What a pretty flower that is so easy to make! Thank you so much for sharing this!!
Thank you so very much, you are so very kind :) TFW hugs Tricia x
You’re not bonkers, you’re brilliant!!!!
Thank you so much, you are so very kind :) TFW hugs Tricia x
I really like the flowers this way as they are easier to make than the ones where you need to do the running stitch along the fabric to shirt it. Thanks for the great idea.
You are BRILLIANT. This is a genius idea. Thank you so much for sharing this tutorial. LOVE this!
That is the exact word I was going to use, Miss Kateri!! BRILLIANT!! Love this!!!
This combined with the burning technique would be perfection. I can’t wait to try it. Thank you for this video!
Thank you so much , you are so very kind :) TFW hugs Tricia xxx
I’m a dressmaker for many years & I’m thinking… no sew, no glue??? This is an awesome idea!! My 10 yr old granddaughter is very artistic… loves to paint & create. She’s learning to sew but sometimes holding petals together to sew or glue are a bit tricky. She will love this! Thank you, Katie
I so love these fabric flowers so had to watch again. The backs look so neat and perfect too.
You could use pennies and call them 'good luck' flowers. Dimes would be thinner. I think also, you could have the button side up and glue on some beautiful tiny glistening beads to the bump. I do like all of them even the heavy fabric. I think on those id pull the fabric towards the center and let them be fluffy, and then perhaps put some tiny beads on wire pins and make some stamens for the sparkle in the center...
to attach to a hat thread the thread throw the button before you use the rubber band then its easy to attach with a couple of stitches I love this idea so easy
love;ly flowers remind me of my nan who was born in 1881, she would use a button and twist her stocking around it and turn over to keep them up when she couldn't find her spenders Chel XXX
How smart are you!! Truly the coolest flower sit I have ever seen!
Instead of a rubber band you can always use a cotton string and tightly wrap it around make a knot and the heat of the glue gun won't be an issue.
You are a genius!! I’m so glad you share your fantastic creative genius with us !! Thank you and God Bless you!!
Thank you so much, hugs Tricia x

OH WOW,how easy is that,I guess you could also use small elastic bands if you dont have the loom bands,so pretty and yet so simple to do,TFS XX
+Elaine White Thank you so much Elaine, you are so kind :) yes elastic bands would work too :) TFW hugs Tricia xxx
OH Tricia,I am so loving these frayed flowers,I have made a few now and love them all,so thank you so much for the inspirational tutorials that you share.Hugs,
Elaine xx
couldn't you also just tie a string around so that the loom band doesn't deteriorate after time?
Can you turn them into pins for lapels or put several together to make corsage ...I love these .. definitely going to try it 😊
Thank you for sharing
Thank you so much, you are so kind :) yes I have some on brooches :)TFW hugs Tricia x
You could put them on clips for your hair, or male fridge magnets from them, use them to decorate other pieces you make. How about on a purse or wall hanging. On a headband or a lamp shade The sky's the limit
Hi… something to add… I’m thinking of burning the edges of some fabric then passing it to my granddaughter (10 yrs old). And with all the gowns that I work on … lace, satin, etc are plentiful. She will have so much fun!!! Again thank you, Katie
These flowers are just fabulous love the fabric, both kinds. I have a craft night with my two teenage granddaughters I can’t wait to work on these flowers with them they will love it
You could also use those tiny hair rubber bands.
oh I commented this before you said it at the end haha
How about using a button-sized magnet? Gonna give it a try and if it works, cover my fridge with flowers!! lol Just kidding about the fridge - really.
ruthrich great idea
Just remember the magnet would have to be glue don. Magnets will not stick on fridge with something over the magnet. So, yea, could glue magnet on back. And of course you could use a magnet in stead of a button. But, if you want it on fridge, have to glue another magnet, on material. Magnet needs to be bare.
I have been looking for an easy flower because I am all thumbs thank you so much for a wonderful idea you are my hero
I love this idea, I used a linen cloth I didn’t have any elastics at the time so I used a very this twine and I love how it turned out because I could fray the ends. Shabby lovely.thanks for sharing
Oh my goodness....I LOVE LOVE LOVE these....gonna head to the store for the bands!! BEAUTIFUL!
I love your flowers . The square one was my favorite of all. I'm going to use them as Christmas wrap, I cant wait. I may even use some on my tree. Thanks so much for the tutorial. Keep them coming.

These quick and shabby beauties are just a wonderful idea...well done you! I have tried a couple by layering the different materials together also and they look pretty nice too. Thanks so much for sharing your process. Di xx

Absolutely great and quick way to make shabby flowers .I like colors so I will use pink and some tulle fabrics shaping the ends into circles or triangles for carnations. As for the glue I will used cold ones like fabric glue glue liquid which dries pretty fast and clear .Thank you for sharing .
