I was born in Hengelo in the week WW2 stopped in Europe. I lived there till I was 25, then I moved to Apeldoorn, Molenhoek (working in Nijmegen); Antwerp (working in Brussels) and Santiago de los Caballeros (retired 1-1-11) with my Dominican/Belgian wife. A lot has changed, since the last time I have been there in 2012 and 2017 to visit my 2 brothers.
Wonderful impressions of your very beautiful hometown and great video, my dear friends.🤘👍 Nice smooth flying and excellent editing. Love the inclusion of the ground footage, too. The colours look awesome. 👌
thank you. We thought "why not do the home town like we would tourist destinations"

I studied at Uni Twente in 2022 as an exchange student and lived in Hengelo during that time. It was always a pleasure to live in there for me. When I watched the video, I noticed that I missed it a bit. Good old days :)
Missing view of and/or littlebit attention to Waarbeek, Lonnekermeer (official part of Enschede, although more located near to Hengelo), Beckum, Oele Watermill, Twentebad and/ or Kristalbad, industrial history for instance of Stork, Dikkers, Heemaf, Hazemeijer, Hengelosche Bierbrouwerij, etc ....
@@wonderjourneysTaking also attention to the often forgotten northern part of Hengelo like the Weusthag area (Houtmaat/Hertenkamp) and the Rientjes kleigaten, furthermore the historical buildings located in the cityparts Wilbert, Elsbeek, Grundel, Nijverheid. Last but not least mentioning your first video is indeed beautiful taken on sunny days.
Hi. “Hengelo” is the name of a city in the east of The Netherlands, near the border with Germany. Hengelo used to have heavy industry back then. Perhaps the steel or machinery for the train station came from Hengelo? Which town is it in Sumatra?

Indeed. A lot has changed. “Vereniging” still stands, but it looks different. Tuindorp is pretty much the same. But much has changed indeed.
Hengelo is a genuinely amazing town.

Yes. Good ones. For a next film tour we’ll put some extra spots on the list.

@@wonderjourneys Dat is Ned .hh .Heb genoten .Thanks .
