If my daddy was still here, he would be absolutely overjoyed to know someone somewhere is cutting a big chunk of baloney and frying it up. He was an old Kentucky boy and he called it Kentucky steak. That is what he ate every day of his life until he passed at the age of 78. I love it!!!! You would have made my daddy proud.

There’s nothing better than Mom & Pop or family owned businesses whether its a restaurant, general store or other that serves the community with a smile. When charming small businesses like this serve the community & has strong ties to the community due to the friendly & passionate people behind it, you get a great business & usually amazing foods or products. Here in NYC it’s nice that we still have loads of Mom & Pop restaurants & businesses. Some people find comfort in franchises & chains that gives them a consistent standardized product they can always expect but in some places these places dominate. When a city or locale is dominated by chains, it becomes too stale, charmless & soulless. Sure they provide jobs & good people work in them but places driven primarily by corporate profits over passionate small business owners lacks the same vibe, charm & soul. I like some franchises but try to frequent privately owned small Mom & Pop businesses much more which are usually superior anyway. Tiffany here is just friendly & charming & people like her are what makes you want to come back to or be loyal to these businesses beyond just good service or food.🙂

Yes she is. I just found this channel and am really enjoying it. About small town goodness I am a big fan of the James Herriot books and being from the USA I always thought the same about the Yorkshire Dales. All the best to you!
What a great way to see a slice of Americana. Nothing tells the history of a place more than where they worship, how they honor the dead, and the commerce in which they engage. This old store is a slice out of a different era; there are still country stores where everyone is on a first name basis and everyone knows if a "stranger" walks in; As you can see though, strangers don't remain strangers very long-- as long as they are respectful as these two visitors from Italy were. I love when I visit a new place to go to the local library and read through some of the old newspaper files and local history and chat up the people who often hang out in small gathering places like local stores, cafe's etc. I also love small town museums; their proprietors are usually volunteers, love what they do, and will talk to you half the day about what it is like in their little town and county. Again, beautiful store; there is one about like it (only a little bigger) not too far from where I live called Crane's Country Store (Williamsburg, MO); they also are famous for the $1 baloney sandwiches; they have not gone up in price, and I think at this point they are more marketing than merchandise. I love the smell of Crane's; it smells like boot leather, wood smoke (heated by a 100 year old pot-belly stove), spices, and canvas; if you want work boots and clothes that last, Crane's is the place for sure. I bet the country store in the video has its own smell too; Growing up in extreme rural Missouri, we had a country store called Margareat's and it closed when I was very little. It sold soda for .25 in the tall heavy returnable bottles that were pulled out of the machine by the neck. I don't remember much except for the smell and the old men sitting around rolling cigarettes; it was one of the last of its kind as by the late 70's urbanization and meth were beginning to decimate rural areas. I hope this little store continues well into the future, as it truly is a rarity these days.
It inspires me that people from all over the world help keep this wonderful store alive. We cannot Thank You enough for your videos and travels to help Keep The United States Alive and Well.
Wonderful! I absolutely love this! Such nice people and Tiff is quite a sweetheart! Someday I want to come down there and have one of those fried bologna sandwiches she makes. When I think American, Tiff's store is what I think of. There is an old store kind of like her place about 2.5 miles from where I live that has been in continuous operation since I think 1885. Still the mostly original building and still open 6 days a week. Lenox Store in Lenox, WV is the name of it. They sell gas, groceries, hardware, plumbing & electrical supplies, etc. I believe John Deere implements were sold there in the beginning. You do a very good job with these videos!
Tiffany gives off an over the top positive vibe. She is delightful to listen to. She should start selling those checkered shirts in her store and label them "junk man" shirts. I hate bologna, but if I am ever near this store I will stop in an try one...(maybe).

Every year a town near me hosts a bologna festival. Bologna royalty, ring bologna toss, games, rides, parades and so much more. The bologna here is like their bologna.
I grew up in Eastern North Carolina and my family built and ran a small rural store like this back in the 70's. It was right on the Pamlico River, so they dredged a pond on the property and connected that to the river via a short canal and turned it into a small boat marina. It was very much a gathering place for the small rural "town" of 600 people or so, that was 40 minutes away from the nearest street light, much like this place. Sadly the property was sold out of my family around 2010 and has sat rotting away ever since.
We love fried Boars Head Baloney on toasted Semolina with spicy Boars Head Mustard here in Brooklyn New York. The thinner the slices the better. Nice and crispy!
Boars head has good bologna. I like mine a bit thinner as well but that thick slice is great w all those toppings and for a hard working individual makes a great lunch to replenish energy. It has to be good quality bologna thick like that, like their Kentucky gold is great bologna.
I have an instant crush on Tiffany! She is a beautiful ray of sunshine and her store is oozing with charm.

I don’t normally eat bologna but the way you cooked it I’m willing to try your bologna sandwich 😊
Thanks
Gotta have that good bologna, not that oscar meyer crap. Fry it w a nice char and all the toppings including egg. Yum. Its a hit every time!

Thanks so much for your kind comment and thanks so much for watching

Just great people! I have a buddy that lives near Franklin and when I go out there to see him and his family I’m definitely going to find this place…

Tiffany gives off an over the top positive vibe. She is delightful to listen to. She should start selling those checkered shirts in her store and label them "junk man" shirts. I hate bologna, but if I am ever near this store I will stop in an try one...(maybe).

They started coming in there real early for food! I want to come work there! Im a cook and absolutely adore mom and pop places. Its always like a family with the customers too. Love.
Every year a town near me hosts a bologna festival. Bologna royalty, ring bologna toss, games, rides, parades and so much more. The bologna here is like their bologna.
Thanks for the update
Tiffany is so cool. I think I could sit and listen to her all day.
Here in Oklahoma they take Bologna one step further. We Smoke Bologna and eat it with BBQ sauce. Smoked Bologna is even better.
Sounds delicious
God bless y'all. Love to meet all the new folks with each video!
You do I very good job and I love the old store
what a great treat to watch this! I really wanted you to try the ocra chips
Thanks for watching
Awesome video. Love old country stores. That was a thick slice of bologna. More like a bologna steak.
Thanks for watching and thanks for the comment
We love fried Boars Head Baloney on toasted Semolina with spicy Boars Head Mustard here in Brooklyn New York. The thinner the slices the better. Nice and crispy!
Yummy
@@theappalachianchannel We will certainly drop on by to try your sandwich when we are in your neck of the woods. It looks delicious!
Boars head has good bologna. I like mine a bit thinner as well but that thick slice is great w all those toppings and for a hard working individual makes a great lunch to replenish energy. It has to be good quality bologna thick like that, like their Kentucky gold is great bologna.
Great show and thanks for the info 👍👍👍😋😋😋😋😋 yummy
