Brilliant! How did I miss this?! I have been making Traveller style career path chart systems for years due to lack of such materials in my library! Thank you, sir, and thank the algorithm for bringing this to my attention! Bless you!
Its interesting how many people do analysis of Cepheus Engine and Sword of Cepheus without mentioning Marc Miller and Traveller. That's partly legal and partly a response to TSR's bankruptcy, WoC's current problems, and strong desire in the industry now to no longer put all your eggs in the one basket. I could see a way to relate Cepheus sorcery to psionics: telepathic illusions masking mundane and psionic attacks. That's basic technobabble. The slow magic effect means the mage really needs the tank or a bunch of other magic users buffing him or hammering the foe in a coordinated fashion.
Perhaps Sword and Planet would be a better scenario to adapt the Cepheus Engine. At least now just combine this game with the original and enjoy that Barsoom is in the Public Domain.
@@ericdollarhyde3296 you could contact them directly, they are quite diligent when it comes to replying. In any case, I'm sure that you'll be notified via DTRPG, if you have purchased any of their previous works.

I've been holding off grabbing this because they said a new edition was coming... It looks awesome.
I can't wait to see it, they've been consistently upping the quality with each release.
Where can I find some news on this? What's the expected release date?

Have you ever heard of a PC RPG game called Ascension?
Is that a card based rpg? I've heard of many pc rpg games that use the name Ascension and then generally some subtitle or something.
