+Jade L Yes, but Marzipan is not just flavored, it consists to about 50% of almods :D It's very easy to made, 50/50 almonds and sugar, VERY finely grind everything and mix it with very small amount of water and you got a nice Marzipan basis. It's very usable to form candy and paint it, or decorate some cakes with :P
+m30cti Actualy it's supposed to be rose water, basically when the turks invaded Germany long ago they closed in the people in Lübeck and so the bakers made whatever they could with what they had. It basically made Germany survive. It's also really good

Marzipan is made from almonds. It's blended until its oils secrete and then it turns into a paste and is mixed with confectioners sugar. It actually isn't that bad in comparison to the flavor of fondant. Those little marzipan fruits are adorable!

We have those marzipan treats in Italy, they're a sweets that we ate in Xmas time :) it'a a typical sicily food product but you can find pretty much everywere in Italy.
