Its sad because Gyomei Misunderstood the Child, the 3 child who ran isnt actually running away they wanted to protect Gyomei because he is blind but they died, and she and the authorities misunderstood Sayo what she meant is the demons killed all of the other child but the demons body disintegrated and the only one who was there was Gyomei, that led to his imprisonment

Sometime during the Hashira Training Arc, Kaigaku was sent on a mission, where he encountered Upper Moon Demon 1. He surrendered in order to survive and became an Upper Moon demon himself, Upper Moon 6.
