Why must you deemphasise the killing of these children? In one scene a plume of smoke in Berlin oddly mirrors those we see in shots of Auschwitz. Underneath the smoke a mutilated soldier is thrilled by the marching music from the bandstand - Rudolf and the Nazis, arguably many Germans, were as oblivious to the suffering of "their own people" as to the suffering they enacted. That's why we hear about the school bombing on the radio, their meaningless deaths are transformed into a tool to further fuel the war. We, or "history", must not squash one injustice for comparison's sake. We must not dehumanise, as Glazer says.

Saw the film for a second time last night Glazer truly made an incredible film, that put me in a trance and shook me to my core Sandra and Christian were just incredible, what makes this film so horrifying is how everything is seen as so normal and when you realize what these people are doing is chilling, instead of using graphic imagery he lets our ears hear everything making it more uncomfortable and uneasy, thank you Jonathan for the film and this speech.
What about the hostages israel has, who has more and treats them WAY worse, including holding literal corpses as hostages and not allowing their families to hold funerals or even mourn them, or how they broke both of a kids arms for no reason before finally releasing him.

Nice of him to acknowledge the civilians one both sides of this conflict. A terrorist group and a far right wing political party are both not going to care about innocent casualties. If you pick sides and ignore the deaths of innocents on either side of a conflict, you are no better than the people committing those crimes.

These people have been in a bloody feud for generations. Acting like only one side is at fault is insane.

You cannot deny that reality by simply conjecturing "what-ifs?", you cannot smooth over the facts on the ground by ahistoric meaningless terms like "bloody feud". There are real causes and a real history behind the violence; you can comfort yourself that this is some "natural state" for the levant, but you'd be denying more than century of European colonialism, invasion, terror and meddling.

Saw the film for a second time last night Glazer truly made an incredible film, that put me in a trance and shook me to my core Sandra and Christian were just incredible, what makes this film so horrifying is how everything is seen as so normal and when you realize what these people are doing is chilling, instead of using graphic imagery he lets our ears hear everything making it more uncomfortable and uneasy, thank you Jonathan for the film and this speech.
