    I am totally in love with my S2A! Such a beautiful camera and it has never taken a bad photo. I have, but not the camera. Love getting the chance to take her out for a walk. It also makes me feel like a "real" photographer. I have published a photo I've taken with her.
    Due to the copious amounts of shiny stuff, I've named mine Savoy. Like, 57 Plymouth Savoy.
    Great video, thanks.

    Never had issues with vignetting on any of the lenses. My hunch is that it's that hood you're using. Try without.
    For those who don't like 6x6: there are 6x4.5 film backs for the S2/S2a, I got one, works great. The default ground glass has the frame lines for that included.

    Under rated camera. I have a S2 that I'm going to be filming a review for soon, love this setup. Very affordable and insane lenses.

    I know it doesn't say on the shutter diel but you can set halfway between each shutter speeds for half stops.
    Amazing don't you think for a mechanical camera!

  • @Caballeroshot
    @Caballeroshot 2 года назад +3

    Absolutely love my S2a, it does have its quirks because of its age and being all mechanical but at least that guarantees you won't be in a bind with batteries ever! I do recommend redoing the focusing screen seals on these cameras which makes them prone to miss focus but I got mine done in less than 30 minutes. Also regarding the strap, just search for the mounting tabs for the camera strap and use Peak design lugs with one of their camera straps, which is what I do and it's more flexible than some 40 year old strap.

    Excellent camera. I have the S2 and used to have an S2A. Both are equally good. Easy to work on and with care will last.

    I recall repeatedly following Bronicas for sale on eBay 20 or so years ago. Boy, do I ever wish I'd spring for one back then, when I could have had one a LOT cheaper. Ever adjusting for inflation.

    Hi mate - on the how back is connected with the body. If you read the manual for the camera - it states that since you connected back to the body - you have to remove the slid. Slid is only used to take back off.

    You know the camera systems was made to make photos copied on analog enlargers which had a negative vinjeting compensating for the vinjeting on the camera lens, making the vinjeting not a problem, more like a nesseserity. I find the Nikor 75mm my favorite lens on my Bronica s2a

    Hi, i got one today but it came without the dark slide. Does this affect the photographs in any way or does it only prevent light filtering in case of changing the back?

    • @CLOCKCOUNTRY
      @CLOCKCOUNTRY  3 года назад +1

      Congrats on the new camera! I would hunt down a darkslide as I think after you load the film you need to advance it to its first frame independent of the body. I think if you did this step without it you will be more susceptible to lightleaks.

    Lucky, i got one from ebay that apparently just got CLA’d, and within a week, the shutter jammed on bulb, I sent it back and got an sq-a. But gosh I miss holding my s2a, such a beautiful camera.

    • @CLOCKCOUNTRY
      @CLOCKCOUNTRY  3 года назад +1

      It works for me for the most part, but I wish I had some type of split-focusing screen. I use the magnifier on almost every shot and it does the trick, but maybe I just want to be a little more lazy lol.

      As for your vignetting. I've had zero vignetting and I shoot the same lens sometimes...Take a look at that hood you have on ;) AFAIK, the hoods for that lens in particular is supposed to be a little bit shorter.
