    Great explanation, the nuances in many concepts (e.g. definition of temperature under unequilibrium) are explained to the essence. This level of clarity is rare among other lectures.

    assuming that the photon temp is driven by solid temp why should they be different immediately at the surface of that solid that emits those photons?.

    unnecessarily abstract and complicated. i wonder if an equation needs many approximations to make sense why we use it at all? thanks anyway prof. Chen. i stop here. watched at least 5 lectures or ~ 8 hours and barely could have any "take_away". Funny thing is that I work in the field of nano dimensions and this had not helped me a thing, sorry!!!
