  • When you start your Raspberry Pi for the first time, you don't know its IP address
    So, we’ll see how to find the IP in two ways
    - with a screen (in the command line or the graphical interface)
    - from another PC on the network (Linux or windows)
    Check the link below for more details

    Are you lost as soon as you are in the command line?
    With so many commands to learn, I understand it can be overwhelming.
    But you don't need so much to really enjoy using them on your Raspberry Pi.

    At 2:00, the demonstration to nmap fades out and switches to Windows, rather than displaying how to use nmap. Thumbs Down for skipping this.

      Yes I agree, you never show how to use nmap which is the point if using linux.

      Oups :/
      A clip is missing, the command is: sudo nmap -sP 192.168.1.0/24 | grep raspberry (for example)

    The low resolution screen capture then grey type on black made anything you typed impossible to read. Next time make the characters you type much MUCH bigger.

    What is ip range

    • @RaspberryTips
      @RaspberryTips  3 года назад +1

      The IP range is all the possible IP addresses on your network. In general, it's something like 192.168.1.1 to 192.168.1.254.
      In the Windows tool I use, you can click on "IP" to fill it automatically.

    You installed nmap but that's it. What are you supposed to do after that?
