    Hi sr very good video. I have some knowledge about electronics. I’m my case I replaced both lm 324 and op amp. But my power supply won’t go up than 10 volts it go from 0 to 10 but won’t go further. I checked some components and there’s no shorts it’s getting very complicated do you have any idea of what to check. Thanks.

    My power supply getting 52v DC output, not able to control by knob, what may be the issue,..?

    • @guyteigh3375
      @guyteigh3375 3 года назад

      It is almost certainly one of TWO problems. If you look at the back of the PSU near the fan, you will see the upright metal plate with two (or three depending on model) output transistors. If these fail short, you will get full voltage. ALSO if these transistors are ok, then the fault is usually the "driver" transistor on the board (with a black heatsink usually but just follow the wires back from the main output transistors).
      These power supplies are usually not too hard to fix BUT they DO fail easily enough - so always be a little wary if using them to power something expensive and sensitive. They cannot be (sensibly) trusted to provide (for example) 5v to a £400 device - as if the PSU driver or output stage shorts again, then your little £400 load lets all the magic smoke out.
      Hope that gives a bit of info - the transistor values are marked on them (they vary according to voltage) but the main ouputs are likely to be 2N3055 or MJ15024G or 2N3773. In your case, the MJ is overkill (intended for the 60V PSUs which can see over 100v on their input), I would guess yours will be the 3055 or the 3773.
      Not sure what the driver transistor is - but it will almost certainly be printed on it clearly enough.

    I tested on lm 324. And I read on pin #14. 1v It should read about 13 v. Looks that something is wrong other than ic. In my case thanks.
