Now a bit on Hilleberg versus Nortent comparition Starting the black lable tents: - Kerlon 1800 material in outer tent (40D SilNylon) - Comes with 10mm dac 7001 poles - Stronger zippers - Y pegs, Hilleberg's strongest tent pegs - The outer tent goes all the way down to the ground for year-round occupancy -Good Ventilation. -70 D floor Price range from 1000-2000 dollars. - Made in Estonia with material from China. - Designed in Sweden. - customer service can differ from Retail to producer, makes repair takes long. Nortent Vern V2 specs: - 30 D SilNylon - 7000 Color coated poles (pretty strong and close to DAC, DAC er according to them just more environmently friendly) - 70 D floor - Dyneema reinforced spots (wich is btw stronger than 40 D) - exceptional Ventilation - YKK Zippers - Y pegs wich are pretty much like Hilleberg BL. Nortent does have even strenger on their Gamme modell too. - like hilleberg the material goes all the way down for 4 season use. - Fast delivery - Better and fast customer service - Half the price than Hilleberg BL. - Designed and Tested in Norway. Produced in China.
The toggling at the ends to change the angle and supposedly tighten the poles, was not in the instructions and all it does is creates loose fabric that flaps in the wind. And you have to do it with the tent unpegged. Try that in high wind. It also will bring the outer tent in close contact with the inner.
It's hard to choose, but I know that if I am going backpacking for some miles would take Polycotton. If it is very warm or very cold, Polycotton. It's heavier than the others so it's a good glam camping tent too. If i am going backpacking for a weekend or a few days at the mountains I'll provlany bring Vern Version 2. I am also going to spend 7 days on this tent in August. If I am going on thruhikes or long distance hike. Like lets say 3000km where every gram matter. I would choose my go to tent Vern 1 Version 1. If I know I can meet storms, I would surely bring a double pole reinforce too. But I only do that on expeditions where I am out more than 14 days to 30 years in the wild.

I'm looking forward to a new challenge👍
Jupp announcement 1 June, then later this fall another announcement 🤞
New Nortent product comming in May too
Still love the idea of getting a Vern 1 nowadays. Quite tempted by the PC version but it seems to have fewer guylines than the green version.
The Polycotton is a great choice for backpacking and glamping like I sometimes do. And in very warm weather it's even better. I love it.

I will do :)
Which Gamme would you recommend. Polycotton or Silnylon?
