One of the most underrated rockers of their early career. Great job, fellas.
John's guitar is everything in this song.
No the vocals are!
No, it's not, Stealth.
Paul McCartney and Harrison gatur no lyrics better than with out lyrics
@@chipgaasche4933 hahahaha
It’s a bitch to play though 😩
I did a cover of this a while ago and it hurt so bad to record over and over! ruclips.net/video/27c1-r-sZEA/видео.html
Babe wake up, new Ably House video!
1:53 Your attention to DETAIL. I caught the lyric that briefly changed from "now" to "so" because one of the Beatles messed it up. 😂 Can't believe you took the video a step further just to do that. Great touch.
John’s part is a workout and a half. Damn he was good
One of my favourite Beatles songs
A man of culture, I see.
I see so many people hate on this song because of Paul’s vocals and how he apparently sounds ill. Obviously, I never noticed, because it’s one of my favorites!
Mine as well. An absolute rocker.
A “work” song. Remade a few times. Paul still not happy. Amazing they just thru this away? All My Loving not a single? Jeez
This is one song that Paul has never played live. It’s an extremely deep cut and one of my all time faves
Mine too. Paul probably doesn't care for this song, unfortunately. If he's asked about it he'll probably say it's just a silly song that was there as an album filler.
I’m so glad you remade this video, this is great, even the sanded Rick
It's not sanded, that was its original finish. Later it was painted black.
@@o_guguito i was always thought Brian epstein suggested john to buy the black rickenbacker?
@@l0serrr.r it was painted black. You can see that John had the original finish in the Cavern Club if you look at some old vids
@@realketchup6563 fun fact: the rick was still in its natural mapleglo during the please please me sessions
John is one of the best rhythm guitar players of all time.
Now you can hear the bass!!!
I'm always curious about the creative process that the Beatles used back in the "early" days. It seems like John is having a lot of fun with this one. Like, "Check out this riff, lads!" and then he launches into what would become the lead guitar part on "Hold Me Tight." Because it is pretty weird, especially a straight rocker like this song. And obviously, it helped a lot that he was playing it on the short-neck Rick. But how inventive! What other groups were doing things like that? None, that's what. And then, at the end of the song, it winds down giving you the impression that they're all tired from the pace of performing it - completely understandable!
And that's what set the Beatles apart from everyone else. They took a seemingly pedestrian song and turned it into a blistering rocker with a strange guitar riff that we have fun dissecting nearly sixty years later! Great job as always, guys! :)
Wow, I never realized how cool John's part is...a bit of a workout too!
Yes! One of my favorite early Beatles songs. That riff always kills my fretting hand.
This has criminally limited views, such an underrated song from the early Beatles, thank you for both helping me learn the song on my Hofner bass and in creating such a wonderful cover of the song, bless you guys.
Excellent. Loved it!
However, John's part may be a bit knackering to play, especially if you are doing this number as part of a set.
Now it kinda makes sense how John can play that riff so effortlessly without tiring out coz the rickenbacker had a smaller scale length and would be easier to play. It has never occured to me before thx Ably House =)
Paul said the same thing about the Hofner bass when he went back to it during his tour in the late 80s -- that he had forgotten how much easier it was to play because of the short scale and the hollow body.
HELL YEAH
I love how much John and George used those bar chords
sounds great as always! i’m proud to have been here since the very first upload back when it was just Andrew!! keep it up guys you’re killin it
I can confirm this, thanks for sticking around!!
Nice! It seems like John is more the lead guitar player than George is on this song!
I know this song well. Played it in many bands myself, back in 1964+
And... you are absolutely correct; these are the instruments the Beatles used on this song!
Using a Rickenbacker 325, Gretsch Country Gentleman, Hofner Bass and a Ludwig Oyster Pearl Drum kit we attempt to reproduce the original studio recording by The Beatles
Further, did you note they originally recorded it in the key of "E", and yet, George Martin pushed it up (tape) to the key of "F"!
To this day, I refuse to play it in "F"! All us guitar players would much prefer to play it in the key of "E"!
It's really great! At last a cover with the original bass line and not a copy of the guitar part. Also good job for the tempo variations. I find it really interesting how in this particular song the personality of the band transpires through the tempo fluctuations between different parts of the song!
Also it's one of my favorite songs (because the structure is rather complex, it's a precursor to other McCartney songs with a complex structure, like Band On The Run, Another Day, Golden Slumbers). Actually I've been waiting for this song because you always do a great job!
Loving the 325c58!!
HOLD ME TIGHT
I love this song
Notification crew! Love you Ably House
That 325c58 is gorgeous!
All of you have not appeared for a long time. You are clearly planning something good at your best.
GooD)))))))
Good little rocker.
Great aong and of course love the guitars and what john was playing ❤
Excellent‼️
It's back!!
great work guys! I like the middle eight so much!! weird chord changes too, sounds too much like early 60's
I can see why they didn’t play this song live 😄
They didn’t?? 😂
That Dizzy Miss Lizzy thing they do is extremely hard to play with power chords. You have to stretch your fingers a lot!
@@Vincentlpp08 They ain't hard unless you practice
They might have played it live between 1961 and 1962. Their first album was originally intended to be a 'live recording' meaning they were drawing songs from their live set to perform, especially on 11 Feb 1963. beatles.fandom.com/wiki/Hold_Me_Tight
@@AblyHouse It was played live between 1961 and 1963 but possibly only once in ‘63 and then dropped according to Mark a Lewisohn In The Beatles Live, 1986.
the return of the king! love the 50s ricky. what’s next on the channel?
I think Roll Over Beethoven with the ricky! Hopefully next week or so
I could never hear the bass properly on this until now. Nice work as always.
Awesome !
Awesome!!😀👍🏻
I love this new cover, but in my opinion the original cover with Neil singing lead will always be the best
What a nice Rick, beautiful!
One of the best in With the Beatles.
Esta es una de mis 200 canciones favoritas de los Beatles
So good!! Nailed it dudes.
You guys should remake all my loving since I've noticed for a long time many covers use johns rick but it sounds a lot like his gibson and also the solo sounds twangy like the gibson George had!
ruclips.net/video/BIO4CTKn7pk/видео.html
I remember the original video from 2017 that was one of the first Ably house videos I watched, can’t believe it’s been 4 years
I cant believe it either! Thanks for watching, David!
Amazing as always!
can you do Paperback Writer next plz? Also nice Rickenbacker
that Rickenbacker lookin like a toy.. really small
John's Rick sounds very dirty & grunge on this one. I love it.
That riffing guitar all the way through 😍😍😍
Excellent
Perfect!
WOW! It's such a good song. I love watching each instrument doing its part. I wish they hadn't added the hand claps, it minimizes the exquisite drumming.
Rocking! Love the new Ric!
I love this song, they have great talent
Nice new Rick!
Perfection. Every note
Well done !!! Thanks for this!
Das hat was - stark gemacht - klasse
Thank You, that was fun!
Super! Yeah!
Awesome u should do not a second time next
that color of rickenbacker tho
Proud mary !!!!
I'm going to join in with quite a few others here and say that I love both this song and your recreation/full cover (minus vocals, of course) of it!! I'm definitely going to have to try to learn at least the bass part; I have played the chords before. Quick question for anyone who might be able to answer: is it true that they recorded this in E and sped it up to F, or was it originally recorded in F? Thanks!!
Can you please cover more songs off the Help! album? Another Girl, The Night Before, I Need You, my bad if you already have! cheers, great work.
I really like that colour of the Rickenbacker more than the black one
i love that
Bloody hell!!!
Thank you for uploading this I love that Rickenbacker
Yea
I’d also love to see you guys do Octopus’ Garden.
Wow!
Great video!!
This is awesome!
We're have u guys been 😂 finnaly
An endurance test this one!
Know what other song from With The Beatles I think has John on lead and George on rhythm guitar? Little Child! Though you can't really hear the guitars on the track, I can faintly make out one doubling the bass line, and the other doubling the chords on the piano. And given the revelations of their roles on tracks like Don't Bother Me and Hold Me Tight, it seems within the methods of John and George to play these respective roles!
im getting a left handed hofner ct, youve inspired me to make the switch
Nice snare and beat
you should cover I Will
Still waiting for I want you she so heavy from alby .. its gonna be epic
Great!!
It would be super great “till there was you” in its studio version
Great cover as always! I noticed your cover of rain was copyright blocked. Will you guys be making another one soon? I would love to see it! :)
ask me why next
Hola. Si me permitís una sugerencia , podríais poner el tono y configuración de amplis y guitarras. Gracias y un saludo.
Ah, so that's what the bassline sounds like.
Holy crap John's rhythm part is a speed work out.
I make custom CDLC for the Rocksmith 2014 game. I've used some of your techniques in my charts.
Along with my ears on the music of course.
I've courted doing this song for ages but the original recording has tempo variations making audio sync tougher than most.
Were there a lot of edits I wonder or was it just running out of arm strength? It seems like keeping that tempo up and playing
it more than one or two takes would be a killer. I mean John did Dizzy Miss Lizzy at a similar tempo, but wow.
It's a lot easier on the short scale guitar and I think they must have built up a lot of finger strength after all those Hamburg runs
@@AblyHouse Yeah. Others have noted below the short scale is a factor in the speed.
Sounds Like The Actual Track.
Minus Paul’s ridiculously out of tune final ‘you...who...who...’
Hi
You all do a great job. If you all want to see another group of guys do Beatles and similar songs check out REO Brothers. They are VERY good.
You matched the sound so well!
Can i use this for a vocal cover please? obviously with credits Pd: Love your channel
This one seems to get singled out on WTB/MTB the same way that Mr. Moonlight does on BFS/B65. No it's not one of their best but I think some of the lack of love stems from the difficulty they had with the arrangement. The guitar parts kind of plod along to the point where they seem to be struggling to get over the finish line by the end. You guys get through it more easily and give it the life it never really had in 1963.
Love it! Are you guys going to remake your old songs or those that needed more work?
We are redoing the ones we can make big improvements on. Pretty much anything we uploaded in 2017 we’d like to update
@@AblyHouse sounds interesting can't wait!
@@AblyHouse I’d love to see an All My Loving and A Hard Day’s Night remake.
A remade version of All My Loving is done.
Bad To Me next! I know they never officially put it on an album, but it’s a solid composition and it’s an original Lennon-McCartney song :D
It would be interesting to hear the Ably House take on "the songs they gave away". Apple Jam's "Off the Beatle Track" album is another interesting "alternate universe" experiment that even gets into the 1960s stereo mixing.
Bad To Me is on the list!
@@AblyHouse Great! 😃😊👍Just a question. Do you like Stones? You'd nail their covers as well. I especially love their elder stuff, like Salt Of The Earth, Factory Girl, Sway, Tumbling Dice, Rip That Joint, Happy, and so on. Plz think about it. 😉🙃🙂
I like Johns play in this song...
Ticket To Ride please
pls can you make a video about how it all started?
Did Paul not use the cavern bass on this number?
He did - I only had this one with me. Plus I just got a control plate made in august of 63 installed, figured it’s probably gonna sound pretty accurate.
