    I think once I started understanding that how I present myself to the world results in different ways the world treats me, I started putting in more effort based on what I wanted in the interactions. It's not right that the world treats people based on appearance, but how people choose to treat me is out of my control so I choose to focus on what I can control.

      Very healthy way of looking at it..I think how you present yourself to the world is HUGE when it comes to how well you'll be percieved so I take extra time in the morning to get ready. It says that you have manners that you care..if that makes sense

    Clinton Kelly once said, "They way you dress tells the rest of the world how you want to be treated." That quote changed my outlook, my focus, on how I look. I realized my physical appearance is my calling card, it semaphores who/what I am, and what I expect from the world.

I LOVE it when I look at myself in the mirror or in my latin dance videos I take for myself, and I look fantastic. It feels soooo good to be neat and well groomed. I love it when I see pretty women who take care of themselves, I feel motivated to do the same with myself because I want that energy ❤❤❤

    When I tried looking my best people suddenly started to talk to me on the street. Absolute strangers wanted to have a small talk with me. Something that never happened before and something that is not happening when I have lazy-messy days. Even the way my partner treats me changed a little after my glow up.

    Growing up I resented the idea of looking good because I hated doing something for society only because it felt fake. And only recently I realized that first and foremost, you should do it for yourself and the way you treat yourself and present to the world highly determines the way other people treat you. Now everyone notices the great changes in me and thanks Jillz for the inspirational content😍

    I agree, people in stores and businesses even treat you different when you look put together. I had to take something back to a store that was damaged and I didn't take the time to look good and the difference in how I was treated was apparent. The older we get the more time it takes to look put together for sure. It was easier when I was younger.

    I think that the main lesson our generation discovers and promotes (like Jill, and many other pioneers) is the understaing that spirit and matter aren't two different things but different representations of the same essence.
    Looking good and feeling good are deeply connected and understaing that opens alot of wisdom and opportunities.

    A couple of years back I started going through big changes in my life physically, losing weight, getting healthy mentally, removing toxic people. There were a couple of weeks when I was feeling so so good. At the store, I noticed this guy did a serious double take at me smiling, which NEVER happens. Then I went to dinner with a couple and one of their friends who I never met before stopped over to say hi as he waited on his takeout order. This guy kept looking at me, smiling, blushing then looking away. This happened several times and like I said NEVER happens! I went home and thought what in the world is going on?!! I think about those two weeks sometimes when I want to exude confident energy and feeling really good about myself. That's how I will attract the things I want in my life : )

    It’s all in the small details! I stopped going to the salon to do my nails because I felt like it was a “stupid” way to spend money, but now that I’m on this self-love journey, I realize it’s not stupid. It makes me feel good. So I took an appointment and I’ll go to the salon this week. I also bought new dresses, started putting on mascara even if I work from home… When I cross myself in a mirror, I do feel better. When I do a grocery run, I take my time more and feel better in my own skin just for how I present to the world. I used to dress for others, but now I do it for myself. Feels good. Love all your videos, thank you for your uplifting content . 😊💖

As I've searched for this myself and couldn't find it. So I ended up looking for english video's on feminine energy, health and welbeing for women. And I got stuck with your video's and channel. I started as a masseuse and Transformational cupping therapist but I felt I could do more and women in The Netherlands need more, more feminine energy stuff. 🥰🥰🥰Hi gorgeous Jillz!!! Great message. I totally agree as a 53 year old who has always put forth my best look starting in my late teens and never stopped and will continue until I am not physically able anymore. I am in to exercise, good diet, and tasteful dressing . Living and working in an East Coast city for many years, I constantly see here many women of all ages 20s, 30s, 40s not looking their best that any high caliber men would find attractive or would want to date. A lot of them are obese and/or are wearing yoga pants, hair bonnets, bedroom slippers, and the super huge caterpillar eyelashes that you can see a block away out in public!! Therefore, I stand out in a good way because my appearance is well put together with hair, makeup, and appropriate clothing which makes me feel like a super model in comparison to a lot of them being younger than I am. I never looked awful or tacky in my younger years and it doesn't take a lot of money to not wear your pajamas outside to the store. So, I get a lot of nice attention from men because my look is so different than most, not all, of the women in this town. I will continue to enjoy the privileges.😊

    I agree with all of this, making the most of what you have, working on confidence, improving yourself, etc. I also appreciate you acknowledging that on FIRST impression, people do tend to favor the more conventionally pretty. It’s not a popular truth but it is what it is. Still - the face I was born with is not my only ticket to success. The people who only ever get a first impression are not worth my anxiety, and the people I interact with again will have an opportunity to see past the external. It’s a win-win in the end if you don’t let people’s initial reaction get to you!

    I agree with this video 100%. I like getting up a little earlier, taking a bit longer with my hair and makeup because it just makes me feel more confident and in control. If I ever look back on a really good day in my life, what's made it good has been my perception of the days events. I've been happy because I've felt neat and put together. I love some of the points you made, but that last conclusive message you made that 'we should all make more effort to look our best' felt a bit superficial and shallow. Sometimes self care for me is to have days in the house when I tie my hair up into a messy bun, let my skin breathe and not wear any make up, and wear a comfy baggy t shirt and just chill. Too much of my day to day is getting dressed up, wearing make up, looking put together when I'm out and about and honestly it's a little exhausting and to be quite frank I couldn't give a bloody hoot what people think if they see me in my oversized T and rats nest hair. 😂 I don't have to look glamorous 24/7 and I revel in my no-make up, chill days. I look good either way because I feel good about myself regardless.

    I only just subscribed and am bingewatching a few, feeling inspired.
    One thing I have only just worked out as I have gotten older, is that you AGE with the beauty or ugliness inside. When I was younger, I did not truly understand the sayings like ' don't like don't frown in the wind, it might stick' (or something like this).
    It seemed like an old wives tale, but it does, over time occur, once the skin and hormones drop away.
    Your regular emotional state or resentments etc eventually play out on your face and posture/ health. The biological chemistry underlying these emotions become visible.
    The outside beauty can be created easily in youth or caked on later, but the inner life eventually becomes the undercarriage.
    I also know a number of people who are beautiful on the inside, but don't 'glow up' and they have a magnetism about them.

    Yes but it's not like we are a piece of meat.
    What you are inside, your belief system shows up outside, your mental health etc.
    So if you view yourself as just meat you are devaluing yourself and that is actually gonna make you look worse because you are lowering your selfconcept.
    If you understand you have a soul and you take care of yourself because you love yourself, then that is what make you actually magnetic.
    So if you get milion sugeries and truly feel like you are just looks you will actually atract the worst man.
    If you take care of yourself because of apreciation for you, for who you are then that is the formula.
    What you explained is very very interesting and it shows everything has to do with internal things, your own feeling about you, not just having a certain look.

    I agreeee with everything you said and love your way of viewing this topic, but I just wanted to share that on the (rare) days my hair looks greasy, I smell sweaty and my jeans got dirty, I remind myself that the patriarchy wants women to look good + to invest a lot of time/focus/energy into their appearence, so that we have less time to face political/financial/whatever stuff, so me looking awful is an act of rebellion, HAHA :D

    The people who complain about "pretty privilege" just don't bother taking the time to make themselves look decent. It isn't a "privilege" it's called working to better yourself.

    • @EspressoLaine
      @EspressoLaine Год назад +43

      I think that’s partly true. I also know that many of us take lots of time and attention to level up and look as put-together as possible, and walk out the door feeling like we look great… and are still treated differently because we are not conventionally pretty. (There’s a positive trade-off, we don’t get hit on by creeps very often. 😅) But to say that some women are put down or overlooked upon first sight ONLY because they’re not “confident” or “making an effort” is just naive at best.

    • @thepuffinpanda9139
      @thepuffinpanda9139 Год назад +4

      @EspressoLaine There's no just thing as conventional beauty anymore. I am a very thin woman. I could be described as scrawny. Always have been. The curvy woman is what's beautiful now. I would not say that I have been treated worse than a curvy woman because I don't go through life comparing my experiences to everyone else's because I am not them. I'm me and all I can do is make the best of what I can. Soon, the beauty standards will change like they always have and another type of woman will be the "conventional beauty" and the cycle will continue.

      @@thepuffinpanda9139 I definitely don’t mean figure or even weight. I’m referring to deformities and unnatural features that have *never* been considered attractive - and I am not at all hurt that this didn’t occur to you, I’m genuinely glad that you do not have that experience! You are correct that culture is fickle, but many of us have to live with it all our lives, no matter how hard we try to improve ourselves, so we learn to roll with it and try not to let it batter our confidence when we are treated like we’re mentally deficient or outcasts for looking “different”. So yes, I still say that making the effort to better yourself is absolutely necessary - but pretty privilege still exists simply because human nature tends to place more value on what it finds attractive. Many people are genuinely kind and do not make blanket assumptions, but it means they have had to make the effort to unlearn that tendency.

      @@thepuffinpanda9139curvy women are what's beautiful now? In what part of the world? In Western culture, e.g., the current beauty standard is all about tall, slender, long-legged, fit women. Maybe add big fake boobs to the mix, but that doesn't make them curvy. And there's no way you can ever meet such a standard if you're short or maybe have a stockier structure, no matter how much you doll yourself up

    • @thepuffinpanda9139
      @thepuffinpanda9139 Год назад

      @ilariamasullo3353 Umm, have you completely forgotten about how much so called "body positivity" is pushed? You are blind if you are missing the loads of campaigns surrounding fashion and the media who are pushing "fat acceptance" and if you work out and think that health is good, then you are "fat phobic". Short, curvy women were the most beautiful in the 50s. Slender women were not the ideal standard. In the 20s, it was the exact opposite. Look at artworks from the Renaissance and Greek and Roman empires. What did they deem beautiful? Was it the same as the heroin chic women that was popular in the 90s? No. The ebb and flow of people's tastes and trends will alwys change. If you aren't "it" right now, that sucks but that's ok. There is someone for everyone and he is the only who should matter to you. People will always find a reason to like or dislike you. That's called life.

    This was a lovely video. But there are some people who look good even without wearing cute outfits and makeup and hair. And then there are some of us who just seem like we need makeup to look better. For example, 15 days ago, I was on my senior prom. I wore a stunning jumpsuit and had curled my hair. I didn't wear any makeup though, I only wore a dark lip. My friend wore a slitted black dress and had a full face of makeup. She got so much compliments. I never got a single one. But generally, both of us hardly get approached or complimented. So do we really look better with makeup? Because without the makeup, I felt I looked horrid at that prom, that explains the zero compliments.

    • @yve4889
      @yve4889 Год назад

      That shouldn't be anything to worry about. Even when I look my best, most probably the only compliments I'll ever get are from my family. That doesn't mean I didn't look good, or that people didn't look at me while I wasn't paying attention.
      During my prom, all the guys in my class couldn't care less, yet when I was dancing this other guy who was completely a stranger to me was staring at me while smiling. He immediately turned when he realized he was seen. Now, if I hadn't turned my head at that specific moment, I wouldn't have known. So yeah, it not getting compliments and especially from people you know doesn't mean much.

    • @yve4889
      @yve4889 Год назад

      And maybe they complimented your friend that wore makeup because usually when someone who doesn't wear makeup suddenly comes with a full face, this difference gets noticed. Doesn't mean you or she wasn't beautiful to begin with. It's just a difference people noticed.
