first cease, now robert. as a white sox fan im pumped to see how these guys play out in st. louis. this series just got even more exciting for me, get those guys a ring!
Love the trade acquisitions and I am very excited for how the direction of the series will go. I will say, to be fair to the cpu, I would make sure that the White Sox's Ace prospect gets a fourth pitch, he throws just three pitches as a high potential Prospect, and two of them are fastballs. Definitely make sure that he gets in the " pitching lab" this offseason!
Fernandez’ high starting point for vision, discipline and clutch would make him someone I’d strongly focus on developing. He should definitely be starting as the DH at AA. He could develop a really nice bat if he can somehow get his power ratings to 50ish. It’s underwhelming but you could maybe even pigeonhole him as a DH and force all development on his bat rather than defensively.
Mason Miller should be a SP in the relative near future, this year as a closer is more of a rehab assignment. But it should be fun whatever route you chose for him!
Just FYI there was a bug in earlier version of the game where trades wouldn’t happen if you loaded a save that was within a certain date range in the season. They hotfixed this but didn’t mention this explicitly. But that’s why you saw trades go through this season compared to last.
Love the trades! Never thought Luis Robert would be in The Lou but I'm all for it! Although I am disappointed with Lane Thomas. wanted to see the lane train get going.
I would like to remind you that the waiver wire does exist, and sometimes you can get some high potential backup players for the major league team to replace struggling backups like Loperfido
Fernandez is one of those players in franchise that has the potential to compete for a batting title in the future. High contact, vision, discipline and clutch usually end up with higher average/OBP type players in franchise. If you were to try and focus all his development on his hitting with his 93 potential you may even be able to get his power into the 50s while having 80-90s contact as well.
if victors struggles continue it’s probably best to move him down the order. good stolen base skills are only good if he’s on base to begin with. i’d even go with a more modern approach and possibly get someone like gorman or even robert to lead off, get more power higher up in the order. starting off a game 1-0 is always a big plus
Excited with the trade and it was very unexpected. I will say, the Farm system is pretty stacked! Got room for more moves or can hold tight with the organizations future in the minors. Can't wait to see what shakes out Also, Lane Thomas is now a lame duck and some more trade capital Also, Also... just saw you used Thomas for a RP....lol let's go
I started a White Sox franchise a week or two ago and Luis Robert seemed fine (to me, who has very little baseball knowledge) in year 1. Then he had below a .240 average with 30+ home runs in year 2, and I think is currently below .200 in the first 10 games of year 3. Seeing you trade for him gives me a little pause, but hopefully he plays better for you.
Luis Robert is realistically a low average high power and great defensive player. If he hits 30+ homeruns and has a .240ish average with great defense every year that's great honestly.
@@wrtrext no problem. If he starts hitting for even lower average and power that's when it's time to start getting worried. At least that's how I'd look at it.
Please develop Fernandez and his bat! His high starting stats are insane for clutch and development in discipline and contact vs R would turn him into a beast.
I think u definitely need to have Nolan Gorman in the middle of your lineup. He tends to be an excellent player in franchise and if you play it right, you can see him become a 40 homer guy. Side Note: You've built a really terrific offense, super cool.
While I don't hate the Robert trade, he didn't work out for me in my White Sox franchise. He would consistently only hit around .210 with 15-20 HRs. for me and his numbers in Cane's save looks about the same. Not exactly a star player. Hopefully it's better for Cane.
Literally on Facebook and it’s talking about this being a potential trade for the cardinals but the trade includes OF Jordan Walker RHP Tink Hence RHP Tekoah Roby RHP Michael McGreevy

Cain just for future reference his last name is pronounced "Row-bear" like rowing a boat and the animal. Love the trade! I think you could also bump up Mason Miller's potential/ovr because of what happened in real life
I agree, raising Miller's potential makes a lot of sense. I'm not sure I 100% like the Robert trade, but the more I'm thinking about it I think it makes sense. It's really Rotando I don't like including. Roby was expendable due to the other pitchers in the organization. But he's an older prospect, so it probably does make sense!
Its not probounced Row-bear, its pronounced exactly how its spelled Robert, only diff is you roll the R at the beginning...hea Cuban not french man lol
Im not 100% sure but i think Jordan Walker was drafted as a 3rd baseman, so maybe he could be the Arenado replacement of the future, and a guy like Marino could take 1st.
I wouldn't blame you if you bumped up Galvan's potential. Being that good at 18 years old it's completely unrealistic for him to be near his ceiling already.
I thought Jordan Walker can also play 3rd base? And I think Jesus Fernandez is a player you can keep and build with, the rest is as you said...Trade fodder.
With the question marks around 3rd base going into the future; I would consider the possibility of Walker moving over there. I understand he's not the best fielder, but I think it allows you to utilize his arm strength to some degree. I doubt with how things are shaping in the outfield that we see him out there again, but it just feels like wasted talent with him at 1st
Feel like you often err on the side of being too deferential to the CPU in trades. Thought Robert deal was fine, but mason miller trade was way too skewed to the other side!
With how eager The Show's been to prove Cane wrong at times, my contrarian streak has me sincerely hoping at least one of these "trade fodder" draft picks somehow goes on to become one of this franchise's cornerstones. I have disproportionately strong faith in you, Rolando Benitez!

This rare occurrence took place from May 28 to May 30, 1913, when the Cincinnati Reds were shut out by the Philadelphia Phillies in three consecutive games. The Phillies' pitchers were Tom Seaton, George Chalmers, and Ad Brennan, who each threw complete game shutouts against the Reds.
I would definitely caution against using AI tools as your only source for historic information. From my research, ChatGPT gave you very inaccurate information. The Phillies did not have 3 consecutive complete game shutouts of the Reds on the dates ChatGPT gave you, they didn't even face the Reds on those dates. During the dates ChatGPT provided, the Phillies were in the process of being swept by the New York Giants in a 4 game series. (series went from May 29th to May 31st, 1913, including a double header on the 30th) There were at least three instances I could find where a series had three consecutive complete game shutouts, the Minnesota Twins did this in 2004 from July 5 through July 7th, games 81, 82, 83 of the season, where they swept the Kansas City Royals by complete game shutout 3 games in a row. In the first game Brad Radke threw 102 pitches in 9 innings, throwing 4 strikeouts, allowing 4 hits, no walks, no runs, game two saw Johan Santana throw 114 pitches in 9 innings, with 13 strikeouts, allowing 3 hits, 2 walks, no runs, and finally game three Kyle Lohse threw 118 pitches in 9 innings, throwing 7 strikeouts, allowing 6 hits, no walks, no runs. A news article I found about the Twins consecutive complete game shutouts on The Herald-Times titled "Twins pitchers throw a triplet of shutouts" published on July 8th, 2004, mentions the Baltimore Orioles also had 3 consecutive complete game shutouts in 1995, that instance was not a 3 game series but across two different series, but searching for information on that led me to an article titled "September 7th, 1974: Orioles pitchers set AL scoreless innings record in Cleveland" about the 1974 Orioles, who also had 3 consecutive complete game shutouts in a series against the Boston Red Sox, the series included a Labor Day double header on September 2nd, and after an off day they completed the sweep on September 4th. The pitchers were Ross Grimsley, Mike Cuellar, and Jim Palmer. The Orioles actually continued with two more complete game shutouts by Dave McNally and Mike Cuellar for a total of 46 consecutive scoreless innings. That article mentioned that the five consecutive complete game shutouts is an AL record and is one short of the post-1900 NL record of six, by the Pittsburgh Pirates in 1903. I found on Baseball Reference that the Pirates record consecutive shutouts included a 3 game series from June 4 though June 6th, 1903 against the Boston Nationals, the pitchers who threw complete game shutouts in that series were Irvin Wilhelm, Ed Doheny, and Deacon Phillippe.
