@@akio2730 I'm a rec player and cut out ALU Power after 8 hours or I get arm problems. Lots of rec players complain about arm problems with poly and then you ask them how long they've been using it and they just leave it in there until it breaks. Stiff polys are fine if you replace them once the string goes dead.
I will install four of these on each side of the racquet, turn weight to Tour version, and increase tension on each side after each play. Not sure how slower swing speed is reduced if installed on the side for cross strings. May be install two on top, ome on bottom but nothing on cross strings.
Good point Though this scenario really only applies to advanced players. For intermediate to advance beginner, their strings usually last for months if not years, so having Retenser actually could benefit them a little bit for a little while. Also, depending on how frequent one plays tennis, Rentenser can save you some money by not having to restring the racquet after not playing for weeks or months. It would also be great to place on backup racquest that you dont use frequently. Wouldn't mind getting a set or two of these if the price is right.
Hi Harry, awesome video. I have noticed you've something special at the wall. It looks like a pro stock Babolat Aero Pro 2013 with the cortex on the throat but with a Pure Aero 2019 paintjob. Can you make a video of that specific racquet?
Seems nice on paper but a pain in practice. Suddenly adding 3kg of tension to the 8 center mains but not to the other mains or crosses as those lose tension might put uneven stress on the frame, no? Let’s say we install this grommet things but we don’t change the tension on the fly, would the feel overall be effected at a given reference tension vs without this grommet thingy. Clearly there will be some added weight from this thing. Too many variables to consider. But hey your mileage may vary
I’m a little bit involved with the Retenser in the Netherlands. There is no effect of deformation on the frame, we measured it. The weight of the Retenser is about 4 grams, and is placed around the balance point of the frame. A pro or advanced player will notice a difference. I really doubt if a recreational player will feel the difference. I think the Retenser will benefit their game in more ways: larger sweetspot beceause of a longer main string, you can play with the tension given the circumstances (heavy balls when playing in the rain), and adding tension when you are looking for more control ! I tested it very long and it really works!
Right now only in Europe is were you can buy this . It looks like just in 3rd party tennis shops in Denmark. 7 lbs max is not much and as stated by the company , it has a very little effect long term. After 7 lbs it is no longer effective and you have added 5 grams to the yoke according to the company page , yet is ITF approved but is not a threat to stringers , but is just short term adjustment. If you add tension then decrease it again you just weekend the strings even more and therefore the strings will have less tension when retensioning and more loss when loosening . If it were permanent for the full stringed then it would not be sold were shops make money off stringing . So only useful in competition were you constantly restring and therefore just an on the spot modification in the competition .
Could you do it the other way round? Like you strung too tight, then loosen it a bit? I am playing a 95" with 18x20 pattern and usually sometimes the strings are too tight. I like my tension low. So I could loosen them a bit, right? Would work, wouldn't it?
The two cilinder Retenser approx 4-5 gr, the three cilinder Retenser approx 8 gr. The grommit strip will be removed by most rackets so that weight you will loose.
In a practical sense, you may just recoup the initial tension loss in stringing the racquet, after the 1st 24 hours. You figure 1.5 kilos (3.3 pounds) is about 75% of that loss, if you string at about 50# or 23 kilos. so, hit for a few hours, and you are at the 3 kilos, anyway. May wanna just restring the racquet, anyway.
I don't see Nadal or Joker using this lol . also I see in time that turn pin braking or slipping and before you know it you have tension out of line. I'll pass lol it's not something I would spend money on

thank the gods
I just fast forward and skip the coffee intro.
Thanks
That 3 mins of coffee sh1t is so annoying.
By the time the coffee sponsor segment is done, my string bed already lost half of its tension
Should have demonstrated stringbed tension change with your ERT300.
If you use poly, the limiting factor is dead poly, not the drop in tension. The drop in tension is a problem but going dead is the bigger factor.
I don’t think so, at least for recreational players.

Epic phrase: "The more you play, the better you get". I could agree more with it.
Clever gadget. I like it.

By the time the tension is lost, the strings are also pretty notched. If you pull the string, the crosses will stay on the notches and be bent down.

I like to serve with a couple pounds tighter tension. I could see changing the tension on the fly from serving to receiving.
Love the concept!
Harry - Are you selling these? I'd like to buy the smaller one.

great idea
Would all, if not most local stringers know how to use the Retenser?
I would love to buy one but I don’t see how to buy it from the US

Where do I buy
How does this affect swing weight and over all weight?

I want one, but they are only sold in the Netherlands.
Like I said tennis players are nuts, now they have ways to increase or reduce tension at any time, looks like its just for 4 strings on the main.
How much do they weigh?

Addendum: Yikes, at 40 euros, this will be a serious investment!
What's next re-felt tennis balls in mid air at game 7 and then 9?
You can only increase tension 3 kilos once per string job ?
I don't see Nadal or Joker using this lol . also I see in time that turn pin braking or slipping and before you know it you have tension out of line. I'll pass lol it's not something I would spend money on
We need an alcohol volume level of that “coffee”
my string looses tension and then breaks.. that retenser won't help
could help to find your tension too !!!
Bro ruined the surprise 😭
Грейскуллдың күшімен
The whole thing seems very gimmicky. Not to mention it will affected the static and swing weight of a tuned racquet.
Alright, how much does it weigh and how easy will it break 😂
I thought that was a masago or tobiko roll 😂 🍣
I thought you were on vacation??
ssd stored
a lot of these are pre-recorded
