I thought for sure they had underestimated the demand of these after that first shipment sold in moments and saw no restocks for like a month. I didn't mind waiting, I just didn't want to miss out. And I definitely didn't want to bankroll all the scalpers buying them up like crazy. I'm so glad I was able to get them finally on a restock.
I saw tons of them in stores and bought 4 sets of them. I wasn't paying insane scalper prices for them. I opened one set, gave a set away, and kept 2 sets MOC for display.

So far the figures released are the following: a) 4 ghostbusters b) 4 ghosts (slimer, stay puft, bug eye, fearsome flush) c) ecto-1 d) 4 ghostbusters fright features do all these have the three different packaging of the video or do only the 4 ghosts and the 4 ghostbusters have it while the ecto and the fright features only one type? Thanks for your help
I hope these gangbusters sales are signaling to Hasbro that it's worthwhile to do an Ecto-1 re-release. I'd love the fire house even more, though I recognize that that much is a pipe dream.

I was disappointed when I got the European variants of the figures off my preorders. I eventually managed to track down the U.S. releases in stores. A few differences that weren't mentioned: 1. The European variants all have deeper bubbles. 2. Egon has an incorrect orange ray on the European variant. 3. The eye paint for Peter, and only Peter for some reason, is messed up on the European variant. 4. The UPC numbers are entirely different (obviously).
Yeah, I got the European card back figures from Walmart.com except Slimmer & Stay Puft. They were the “who ya gonna call” card back versions. I also got the “who ya gonna call” card back figures from eBay. Just the four ghostbusters though. The one’s I opened for display are the six “who ya gonna call” figures. The European card back figures are still unopened and I don’t plan on opening them.
Interesting, I always thought the catchphrase is part of GB trademark licensing or Columbia Pictures... Didn't know it belongs to that Music Corp.... Thx for the info...
Ive got all three variants. It seems that the more sought after amongst the hard collectors have “who you gonna call” on them. My recent shipment from Walmart had the multi-lingual cards.
Maybe the rights change on that phrase? the lyric is i ain't afraid, the card says 'fraid like the originals, maybe they were allowed to keep that on there but not the "who you gonna call?" since that's directly from the song? Copyrights are tricky business.
10:01 the paint detail in the eye made me say "what?" and i laughed. BTW we got the 3rd variant here in Asia and a little disappointed with it because i wanted them to include the name of the ghost on the card. It would have at least be close to the original. Why they omitted the names of the ghosts on the card? i don't know....

There’s a chance they’ll do more the toys have sold very well.
I believe they are releasing an Ecto 1 when the movie drops...with a new set of 5 inch figures.

I pre-ordered on Walmart, I received the green ghost with the "who you gonna call?" and the other figures were a mix of us cards and foreign cards.
Yes my Slimer and stay puft were V.1 US card backs as well

There's more variants. The Zavvi posted folded and crushed UK variant and the Wallmart crushed and folded USA post variant. Bloody nightmare.

Just got Egon today and it's the V3. Looks like they got the cardback from the 90's. It is in bad shape, Walmart gotta stop shipping these in bags.

I know the original writer no longer owns the rights, he sold it for 250k a year two ago .
