Could i use this for like my hg barbato long sword? Like after the anime introduce the long sword they upgrade the handle part. Which bandai hasn't made a part for it. I mean they kinda made a whole new sword however it's hasn't been reprinted due ti the kit the sword is with is pretty huge kit. Thought bandai would might include it when gundam build breaker battlelog when Barbataurus exist and also have that sword upgrade. But it never came
Newb here with a few questions about epoxy putty: Could this be used to replicate broken parts? How tough is this when fully cured? Is epoxy putty more like solid clay, in that it is very hard and breaks easily? Is epoxy putty as solid and flexible as styrene plastic?
Optronixatron I would recommend you use resin or silicone to replicate pieces. It’s relatively tough when cute tho it will crack when given a good whack of pressure. So just treat it with caution, play around with some putty and get a feel for it yourself. And no once it’s cured the putty is not flexible at all. However you can shape it all you want while it’s active (when you first mix both parts)
Fantastic thanks so much for your help! I bought an old garage kit to practice on from the 90's so i dont ruin the more expensive kit i bought with it being my first try 😅 there is a large skirt but about a 1cm gap it doesn't line up properly. I thought the magical object known as epoxy putty could fix it but i didnt even know what putty was before this video so thanks so so much
Hey - great tutorial. Question: How hard does the putty get ? As hard or better than the original plastic part you extended ? Can it be drilled and screw mounted to a chassis - for example ? Many thanks - Andy in MIami.
Is there any way to keep the putty from sticking permanently to the plastic? Like if you wanted to use it to sculpt a piece of armor for a figure, but you wanted it to be removable. Maybe coat the figure with something, sculpt the putty over the figure, let it harden, then be able to remove it intact without damaging the figure underneath? I know professionals would probably sculpt the part out of something else, remove it from the figure, create a mold of the sculpted part and then cast it in the final material, but I was looking for an easier and cheaper way to do the same thing. I've read that epoxy putty dries hard and strong so it would be perfect for creating small pieces, but how can you keep it from permanently sticking to the object underneath? I know that oil would probably keep it from sticking, but then that would make it hard to work on, if the putty didn't stick at all while you were working on it.
lurkerrekrul yeah I wouldn’t know anything about molding and removing. Putty like this is mainly used for just filling up and extending stuff. The best way that I know of for you is to make a cast and mold for your armor
This helped me out alot . As soon as I heard the opening I was like "this is exactly what I'm looking for " 😂 I need to try epoxy putty to fix action figures and neck parts. Now I just need to know if mr.color or tamaya color is the best for painting pvc material . And even and plastic or resin . But the dolls I'm working on are PVC
Tonezone, when you said about standard of Epoxy Putty, do you mean the blue one (the Smooth Surface)? If so have you tried to harden it by baking it or put it in a boiling water?
Does anyone know what paint I can use for flesh color pvc? Is tamaya or mr. Color the best ? I need it for ("Picco Neemo". Or "Assault Lily" white skin)
Can you add epoxy putty to dried epoxy putty parts? I'm sorry I'm asking so many questions, I love this channel and just found it . I've been interested in this hobby since I was younger and I thought it was about time I fix my broken action figure parts XD
Yes you can use epoxy putty when fixing the gaps between parts. However, you have to be careful whether it is fixed posed or is their a ball joint. If their is a ball joint you may have to trim some of the execess so the piece can still move. As for the paints for figures I have not bought any yet as building my fixed posed Lady Unexpected for Gundam W. I am still on the research stage for the paints. When searching online I have seen anime paints sets for painting figures which their are a few shades provided. I can't remember the brand off the top of my head. When I was at my local art store they had wide range of colour tones that you can use for anything. It really depends on your tastes what paint you use.
You don’t want to leave them in sunlight. I keep them in that plastic they come wrapped in, inside the box or a closed container in a cooler area. Make sure you keep the two types of materials separate though.
When I was building my Crossbones I felt proud of myself. "Yeah, my first MG. It's so good." And it was. It was fully built, and painted well even with a hand brush (flex flex). But a month later I decided I was gonna equip the lance for once, and that's when I noticed that there was a little tab at the top of the handle. "Oh no" I thought. "I'm missing a piece" so I looked through my bag of holding to look for the bits, (because I keep extra bits for gaslands) and sure enough, I had ONE of the parts for the scope. *ONE*. I was frantically searching for the other bit but no avail. I mean thankfully, the missing part was just a simple accent so now I have to model the missing piece using putty. *WISH ME LUCK*
hi, found that there is another one with 'Smooth Surface', any idea what's the difference between 'Quick Type' and 'Smooth Surface'?
Awesome tutorial and a touch of comedy which help to relax about it!. I will try it on my model now... wish me luck!
oh my god thank you for this vid! just what I was looking for. talk about good timing xD
i have a question is it strong enough to be a joint, to be specific ball joint
would nail files be fine? I've got those in place of sanding blocks
Question though. Can it also fix small or big loose joints?
thanks for the vid. had a hard time finding any good videos on it that i was able to find a wile ago
Great job explaining it. Keep it up spacenoid!

This is very helpful, thanks. I’m working at my first kit atm :-) which grit do you use for sanding putty?
I just broke the VERY SMALL little peg that connects the RG zaku left shoulder. You think recasting that peg with this epoxy will do the work?
Hey can i use that to make FLIR on aircrafts?
Thanks so much! I just ordered a gundam msia figure that was missing a piece:(. Now I feel confident to build that piece :)
How good would it stick to let’s say wood?
Can this be used for customizing action figures?
Specifiacally marvel legends?
can i use the mighty putty?

Say you want to fill a hole to have an almost flat surface for Gunpla customization. Will it increase tne weight of the piece?

Si están bien mezclados los componentes se convierte en una roca, puedes taladrar o hacer lo que quieras...
@@vilfheram gracias!
Whats the difference between this and the one with the purple box?
Hello, thank you for the tutorial! So once it hardens, the putty remains fully attached to the original piece???
hbanana7 more or less. As long as you properly attatch and sand it well
Tonezone117 that is awesome!!! Thank you for your reply!!
can be used with no gloves?
can i use epoxy putty to fix a tea pot lid (possible contact with hot water)? I tried to search online but it gets very confusing....
I don’t think it would hold up with the constant expansion/retraction from the heat. I would look for heat resistant silicone for hardware.
Nice vid!! What's the grit of the sand block you are using btw?
joshua misa around 400-600
Epoxy putty hardens right cuz I was thinking of making additional designs like making custom v fins
christian bernardino yes these harden completely after 12 hours. Just let them sit overnight while you sleep so save time

apply a layer of vaseline on the part before the putty but be sure not to mix vaseline into the putty or it'll turn soft
@@cade4099 Thanks. :)
I’ve used corn starch on my workbench to prevent sticking.
Can i use epoxy putty to fill up holes in the metal floor of my campervan?
Can i use this to make custom parts for action figures??
Glenn Simbulan yes!
Hello Tonezone, can quick type also be used for recasting/duplicating parts?
It depends but it’s possible
How to store it so it doesent dry out
When you said standard, do you mean the smooth surface?

Well I suggest priming the surface
Nice.

Either of those options are good. I use Gaia’s flesh tones.
Use PVC friendly primer, then use whatever acrylics you want. Tamiya are good, Vallejo, Scale75, Citadel Colour.... the choices are endless.
"Extendo bendo... Magical Things!" ...Hentai?
good one. i enjoyed ur vid but should u not be saying last night instead of yesterday night?
One question. How do u remove putty from ur hands
well does model clays works
Is this like resin where I need a mask and gloves to keep myseld from inhaling the dust?
Toa Hudy not at all, just picture it as silly putty or sticky tack, that hardens in 12 hours lmao

PukiFee Neemo yes you can add more putty on putty, just make sure you don’t put too much so you don’t waste time sanding later
Does it work for fixing broken parts
Btw your gm is p-bandai?
really helpful! great video
After using it, how should i store the remaining putty? will it dry out?

Can you use it on metal? Nice memes throughout the video. Kinda like a JobbyTheHong tutorial
How about smooth type?
Currently working on a few kitbashes, this should be helpful.
Gonna use this crap along with pla plate to extend the waist for my PG Wing Zero flying in from Japan. Wish me luck!
What are all these weird graphics that keep popping up during the video?
Modeling tutorial and shitposting. Sir, you have my complete attention
I like the video, very humorous! But you still got your point across very nicely!
