I absolutely agree that the AAA battery is far superior to a rechargeable battery. You can get a replacement battery almost anywhere in the world, and for those of us who travel that means a lot. Charging a device in a foreign country can be problematic at times. I certainly wouldn't want to be stuck somewhere for hours just to recharge my headphones. The AAA battery lasts a long, long time and it's easy to throw a couple spare batteries in a backpack, boarding bag, etc. I own the QC-15s and don't travel anywhere without them. Noise cancellation was my primary reason for buying them and I would buy a new QC-25 without a moment's hesitation. Good video!
Your review just helped me to decide. I'm an average listener who is not heavy on the bass and appreciate a well balance sound. In a noisy world, this is a good headphones to have. You totally expressed my thoughts and concerns about getting a pair of headphones. Awesome review.
Great review!! ,.. I'm a dj and i use the qc25 in my mixes!! ,.. Bose is really the rolls royce of headphones!! ,.. I was a long-time sony user never again!! ,.. The bass in these are phenomenal!! And i play a lot of house music!✌✌✌✌✌🎧🎧🎧🎧🎧🎧🎧🎧🎧🎧✌✌✌✌🎧🎧🎧 ,.. MUST BUY!!! WELL WORTH IT!!
There is a reason of the AAA Battery, what if you are about to board a 18h flight, you can have spares on the case, or bought in duty free.. you may say that 18 is a too much, but in the States most of flight are very direct, but in my case living in south america, flying overseas , could be 12h to the states 18 - 24 Europe and 36h+ to Asia. I think Bose want a great worldwide product, also one think i noticed in Europe is that there are not such thing as free charging station or Power Outlets. In my country Ecuador , there are lots of power outlets everywhere not just airports also restaurant and even parks...
VERY NICE REVIEW MAN! I tested them at Best Buy and I can attest that everything he said about this IS TRUE. The noise-cancelling is top notch in the game!
This review was spot on. I bought these from best buy and used them for about 2 weeks walking around NYC riding the subway and on a trip to Florida. They are comfortable as heck and the sound quality is "relaxed" as you have stated. I was however underwhelmed by the plastic covering; if you tab on it while wearing the headphones you'll feel like jumping out of your skin. Imagine what happens when a train comes buy you in NYC, you'll feel like flinging them off your head. The base was relaxed but I don't ever want a relaxed base; I'm the guy that listens to latin jazz, jazz, Hip Hop, electronica, Pop which are all base dependent. I like a pair of headphones that can give me high hats and strings that are true to life and while Bose does that I also like Base that is also true to life and Bose fails there because believe it or not, Base is NEVER relaxed.
One comment about audiophiles or hi-fi enthusiasts - it is actually not about the flat sound. Flat sound is for monitoring - mixing, mastering, etc. For the music enjoyment, it depends on the "character" and type of music. If bass is a meaningful part of the song, it should stand out more for example.
You people all need to realize that you can get some rechargeable AAA batteries and cycle those. They last long, and you'll never have the problem of listening-time degrading more and more as the weeks and months go by. Plus, AA and AAA are available in virtually every city and in every village general store *worldwide* from Asia and Africa to the America's. The fact it has not a built-in battery is actually a VERY good deal in my opinion (freaking smartphones these days). Batteries degrade over time and are rated for x charge/discharge cycles~ approx 300-500 cycles for lith-ion and lith-polly cells; that means between 1 and 2 years if you charge it once every day; hearing/call-time gets degraded over time as well as time goes by, until the headphone just stops working because the battery is dead. Having AAA as the power source for this headphone for the average consumer is like having your cake and eating it too. Wish I could afford them myself =)
I have had the qc15's for many years, the only reason for me to upgrade is the fact they will continue to play music (without noise cancellation) after the battery has died. The cable on the 25's is not a 'standard' cable as mentioned here. It is actually a 3.5mm to 2.5mm jack so the usual manufacturer cabling dickery there with a proprietary (ish) cable. You can get them but a standard 3.5 to 3.5 would have been less of an asshole move by Bose. These headphones are completely successful at the two things they say they will do they are noise cancelling, as in ambient noise, they won't make someones voice go away but background noise yes and when sitting in a noisy office they can actually help you listen in on conversations that are further away but masked by air conditioning noise etc.... and they are incredibly comfortable. There are also some 3rd party bluetooth options that are coming out that would make getting the new blue tooth versions a little less necessary. Build wise, you end up with the usual black dandruff after a year or so and need new ear cups but I was wearing these for 5-6 hours a day so, I'm ok with that. The headband flaked off to but there is a spongy material underneath that doesn't look too bad so I have not replaced the band. One of the few products in my life that I can 100% recommend. If you are looking for an audiophile experience then go buy audiophile headphones.
My opinion as well. I am looking for my first pair of NC headphones and for sure I don't want the limitations of a built-in battery. I use rechargeable AA and AAA batteries so I'm not throwing away lots of alkalines.
I'm not sure if this has been discussed but sound does leak out from the QC25's headphones. I have the Sony MDR-100AAP and while comparing these with the QC25's at the same volume level on my iPhone 6S, my wife standing about 6ft away mentioned that she could hear the song I was monitoring clearly and a bit loud when I had on the QC25's. With the Sony's, she could barely hear the song I was listening to, and in fact the Sony's in my ears sounded louder then the QC25s and so I thought she would hear the Sony's at a distance. I obviously cannot tell the volume of sound emitting from my headphones with them on, but I thought to mention this observation.
Great review as always! You sir deserve way more subs. So detalied, fact-giving etc.I'm proud to already be here with you (you will soon become big on yt).
How is it for Gaming? I have been using steelseries siberia elite prism for some time. Before that I had steelseries siberia v2 frost blue. Both the steelseries headsets were really comfortable but Elite is a lot heavier. This QC2 is a lot lighter. So it should be more comfortable. A comparison will help me greatly.
The good thing about an AAA battery is being able to change it. Rechargeable headphones require you to charge them. That is not always possible when you are on the go. I think these headphones are great. I think the comment about a relaxing sound is spot on.
Right. And what happens when the built-in, rechargeable battery dies and needs to be replaced? You'll be on the phone to Bose, paying for a pricey replacement battery. But more likely, you'll need to pay a large fee for them to replace the unit on one-time basis. If your QC-35 dies while you're traveling out of the country, good luck! I'll take a AAA battery any day!
Early this year (2019) I've decided that I wanted a pair of good headphones (i've had a pair of skullcandy crushers for about 3 years now) and after digging into the webs and thanksto a mighty offer by amazon I got these for about $100. One of the main reasons I got these over the newer qc35 -besides the price tag- was the AAA battery. Anyway, to my ears they sound great and are the most comfortable pair of cans I've ever had. The only downside is that a couple months later the sony 1000 xm3 went on sale and of course I had to get them, soundwise they are so much better and they are what i take with me to my job, but the cmfort factor in the bose made me kept them and are what I use when working at home.
I won't comment on the sound quality but I think the obvious reason to make a pair of headphones like these almost entirely out of plastic is, as you mentioned, the weight. These are intended to be used for travel and, especially if flying, weight becomes an issue. If I want premium build quality but I don't intend on travelling with it then I'd be getting something totally different. Additionally, the criticism of the battery...I don't really understand why built-in batteries are considered to be a great thing. Any battery has a certain life-span and, in the case of most modern tech, that lifespan will be a lot shorter than that of the rest of the product (this is certainly true of headphones unless you physically break them). If I'm paying hundreds of dollars for a pair of headphones then I don't want to have to be sending them off to have the internal battery replaced for a significant fee or having to replace them entirely a couple of years in. Additionally, if the rechargeable battery dies on me whilst I'm not in the vicinity of a charger then so much for listening to music. A replaceable battery is the superior option in every way except the "cool" factor...Mobile phones with a closed uni-body design can have a more premium feel to them than the plastic Samsungs up to the S5. This doesn't make much of a difference since the phone will be going in a case anyway but it will make a huge difference two years down the line when the S6 user is replacing their phone due to a crapped out battery, whilst I'm just buying a new battery for my S5. Same exact situation here.
Keyser Söze I hate built in battery, going from the S4 to S6... i had to carry multiple battery packs rather than smaller S4 batteries... can't wait to change to another phone...
I own a pair of these. I love them. I think the mat metal on the sides, and the band feel pretty nice. I also love the sound quality, the ear ups, and the noise cancelation. I personally use these for school and gaming and I just love them and I’d recommend these to anyone. The only two issue on them is the fact they have leather ear cups that get a bit hot as well as the head band which after wearing them for about an hour or two it starts pinching your crown
Hey!! Comming from someone 2 years in the future are these headphone still worth it? I kinda wanna get good noise, cancellation, headphones, and I’ve looked at the qc35 and 45s.. but they are a little expensive for me and I was wondering if they’re still worth it?
You just read my mind! That's mind blowing! Another fantastic review. (I also love the background music you make) The thing I do not understand is that most of the Bose speakers are known to be bassy, but for some reason they chose to do it this way. Well yeah, as you said... they are meant to be "relaxing" but the average consumer loves a littlebit of punch! :D
+Danté Thanks for watching Dante!! I had the same exact thoughts, Bose products are previously known to be pretty V-shaped in frequency response, so I was surprised how tame the bass was with these headphones. They're a lot more neutral than I expected them to be. And I love some punch as much as you do! Which is why I love the V-Moda M100s :P
4:30 i can say a lot of bad stuff about these headphones from a sound standpoint but i gotta disagree the plastic is probably there to make them lighter(as u mention later on) the feel well built but the sound is just terrible imo im selling my pair on ebay since the sound they produced seemed sharper than my other headphones up to the point where i felt ear pain after around 30 minutes of usage on similar volume settings to my other Headphones that being said, my 50€ Bose in ears have been serving me very well, offering imo better sound while in quiet environments for 1/4 of what i paid for these
yesterday i almost bought one then i saw the reviews from amazon where 10% of the people said the same thing, either the left side or the right side stopped working suddenly. this is the only set back for me
Yea it seems a fault, got a pair today for nowt off my pal with sound just coming from the left ear and noise cancellation not working, but a quick fix off you tube and i've got them working perfect, and i've ordered some new cups and a bluetooth adapter as they are really comfortable and for nothing, i'm buzzing.
wearing mine right now :) completely shut into my own world with people all around me! the sound quality to me is complete silk, (for lack of a better term)
Great Review. I totally agreed with everything you said except the AAA battery thing. It's actually a good thing to have a removable battery where you can just swap in a new one and keep going rather than relying it on charge.
This is a fantastic review. I've been looking for some good headphones and this review has helped me a lot. You covered everything people want and gave an honest review. Thank a lot!
Had them for a few years, and overall I was happy with them although tough they were a bit pricey for the quality they offer. One day the right side speaker stopped working, I hadn't dropped them or anything, the right speaker just stopped working. A couple of they ago I started to search on the net for a solution for the problem and came across a video on RUclips that explained that it was a common problem and all you had to do was to revoke the cushion and the sticker that cover the speaker underneath and apply some pressure on this with a pencil or whatever. I could believe it but it worked. I am happy the it works again but such high end headphones cannot have this problem.
Oh man for a flight that long, a pair of noise-canceling headphones is a MUST HAVE! I just took a couple 4 hour flights across the US and blocking out jet engine noise and crying babies while listening to full quality music is heaven.
returned M40x after 10 days, just too tight for me. And M50x seems too large for my need. I was hesitating between QC25 and Momentum 2.0, for about the same price, I gave up some bass for a comfort and quieter headphone ( also lighter on my head). Got QC25 for about a month now. I also find the low is a bit thin, and my Note 5 isn't pushing it very loud either (75% volume+) Also, I was lucky to get the triple black edition, it looks very classy on head, not stupidly attracting attention like Beats. Battery life was also great, first one lasted 20 days ( I use it almost everyday). So, yeah, if I had to choose again, QC25 hands down. I wish: - more low end - wider ear pad toward the inside to give more contact surface (pressure could be lowered a little bit)
+YC Y Nice! Thanks for the input, I'd be interested to see that colorway in person. Did you also get a chance to see my Momentum 2.0 review? Love those headphones...
Excellent review ... thank you. I just have one alternative viewpoint: I prefer an AAA battery to a built-in rechargeable. I owned the Beats Studio, which I bought when I knew less about headphones, and it had a rechargeable battery. Too often I picked up the Beats and found them dead, often because I hadn't mastered the switching off procedure. I couldn't even plug them in and get them to work immediately - I had to wait for them to recharge to a certain level. How aggravating would it be to get on a plane and have your noise-cancellation die halfway through the trip? If you remember to keep an extra AAA battery in the Bose case - and there's a hole for it - you're good for another 35 hours (27, I think, with rechargeable AAAs). And I have rechargeable AAA batteries, so that takes care of cost and the earth.
+Don Ellis Wow, thanks for the perspective Don! You're totally right, Bose made the right choice in sticking with traditional batteries for frequent travelers who need the convenience of being able to swap out batteries in a pinch. Enjoy your headphones in good health!
Wow! Great review man. It's like as if you read my mind...because I actually imagined you would review this headphone. None the less, I think these ones have an above average sound quality when listening to hip-pop or something similar. In terms of the bass, they can definitely be compared to the Skullcandy Crushers because I think those ones also require a battery as well, but crushers have horrible sound quality. Anyway, I think you deserve way more views than this. Your vids are very well done. Keep it up!
Awesome review. I got the QC25 on the triple-black version and they are awesome! I tested the QC35 model on a Bose store in Orlando, yet I think the QC25 sound better. Not an easy model to beat. Cheers.
I think the noise cancellation and warm relaxed sound stage is enough of a selling point for me personally since i do commute via bus almost on a daily basis and the noise created by the bus have really been bothering me and all my current headphones i find very fatiguing.
Thoughts on the battery thing: In a way a replaceable battery can be better for this application. Usually when you want to use NC headphones is travelling, plane rides, train rides, bus rides etc. For the most part these types of events are long, especially international flights. Lets say when the juice runs out, during the trip, or you forget to charge before the trip it kinda sucks not being able to use them for the purpose you bought them for, during the portion of the trip you need them for. With this you can just kinda swap it it out and you are golden. Not raggin on that point, just maybe another perspective on why they still use that feature. Also for the plastic bits, I think they were made that way to reduce the weight, and heat so you could wear them for longer durations. (trying to minimize headphone fatigue)
+Paolo Dela Vina Very valid points! Thanks for the interesting perspective. I think it's cool that Bose has stayed focused on their target consumers who are people that travel often and commute daily.
I would say so, the QC3 is an on-ear headphone whereas the QC25 is over-ear which completely covers your ear, leading to better isolation from the seal.
I've seen that it is often stated that these are for Apple products or something. What do they mean with that? Can't you use the noice canceling on Android phones or something?
I think what you're referring to is that these come in an "Apple iOS" version and an "Android" version. Either version will work with any phone, regardless of Apple or Android, but the difference lies in the cable. The cables that come with these headphones have phone controls and an in-built mic, so those phone controls only work with each specific phone.
Sir is these headphones work on acoustic noise cancellation? Or active noise cancellation? ... And please tell me which one is better and what is the difference between them
I bought the QC 25 recently. IMHO they are very good at noise cancellation of low frequency sounds, if you sit in a noisy office, they really make a lot of a difference. However if you wear them in a quiet space, you hear some white noise they generate once they are turned on.. I guess the noise is generated and wanted, as total silence is uncomfortable as well! Music quality is NOT comparable to a mid range normal headset.. It misses a lot of base and the music sounds somehow distorted a littlebit, but after some minutes you won´t notice this anymore. They are designed to cancel noise, so they have to choose the appropriate frequency response by that, and not by "perfect music". For the first 3-4 hours i felt like pressure is generated too my ears, once the noise cancellation is turned on.. However this feeling vanishes as you use the headphones regulary.. I guess it´s a learning thing, as the brain thinks something is pressing onto your ears as you don´t hear anything anymore, so you get the sensation of "pressure" even if there is none.
The battery is actually an adventage... They are basically meant to be used while travelling by plane/train. If your battery is dead you can get them in any store in a duty free zone or central station, but you won't be able to charge it.
Good review, I'll be picking up a pair of these tomorrow so will see if I agree. I hope if the bass is lacking I can hopefully compensate with the equalizer in Spotify.
I want to use these headphones for gaming and music listening. Music more I guess, but the deal is, will I be able to get more bass out of it using the preamp in my phone app and equalizer in my PC?
In reading the reviews on these it seems as there is a problem with delicate wires breaking in the ear cups especially the right one after about a year of use. Did you have a problem like that with yours?
i bought mine today but i can hear the sound externally, i thought that is wrong for an headphones...please does it come with speaker function or mine is just faulty
No it isn't a fault. They aren't completely sealed for the comfort and isolation purposes. Mine also 'leaks' a little sound- which is completely normal.
i don't remember if this was the model but i tried several bose headphones including the top of the line at a bose store and was dissapointed in the nc. i was expecting a vaccuum of silence but even in the store, i could hear voices from people talking just a few feet away. i'm sure it can handle the hum of airplane noise but it didn't do a good job on simple voices. i guess that would make up the 10-20% that these headphones can't quiet out.
Will this headphones work with my pc? And the noise cancelling while using on pc? :) Also how good are these to close out my family talking loud while I study? Ty in advance for your answers!
+VIctor Lundgren These headphones will work fine with your PC and pretty much any device with a stereo jack. And as far as noise-cancelation, it's excellent. As long as the noise-cancelation is on and you're playing some music, then it should drown out pretty much everything (unless someone is right in your ear lol).
I love to have a pair of these, but the price is an obstacle. I'm glad it doesn't have a built-in rechargeable battery. The problem with those is that they only last so long after being recharged so many times and they're not replaceable 0f the ones I've researched. I've got a pair of Meelectronics blue tooth headphones and when the battery dies, you just have to throw them away. I have a pair of Bose TP-1A that I've had for about 8 years and they sound great (not into boomy bass) and I've listened to the Quiet Comfort 25 at a Best Buy. They're on my wish list!
Good review. I've owned a pair for about 3 months. I use them daily and gone thru 4 batteries so far. There's definitely more positives than negatives. Noise cancellation is tremendous. Sound is good. Agree with reviewer that the bass is subdued. But mid range is excellent. The negatives are comfort. Although they are one of the most comfortable headphones, they will hurt your ears after a half hour. The top of the headphone puts some pressure on the top of your head. I have to adjust or even remove them for a minute or two and then I'm good for another half hour. Maybe I was expecting more comfort than is really possible. The last negative is the battery and power system. You would think they would include a auto-power off of the headphone after an hour of no movement. But they don't. You have to remember to turn them off. Not a big deal, just something they should have included. So on whole, I'm glad I spent $300 on these. Great for commuting, music and you-tube videos.
Thank you for reviewing these headphones :). I have been doing a lot of research on what is the best headphones to get my boyfriend and because he is after noise cancellation (as he travels often) and comfort, then this fits perfectly with what I'm after! :)
Dude, another great review as always! Please keep doing more headphone reviews, your REALLY GOOD AT IT! Also could you review the Sony XB950BT, since I'm a bass head and plan on getting them soon over my Studio Wireless.
+Nut Case (BurN2Otice) Appreciate the feedback as always my friend!! I would definitely be interested in reviewing a pair of the XB950BT's because I love bass myself and I'm curious how a pair of bass-focused headphones would stack up. Got another review coming in later this week!
Personally I would go with the Sennheiser Momentum 2 for a wired, portable headphone. The sound quality is better all-around, more impact on the bass while still retaining a high level of detail. You can check my review here: ruclips.net/video/UlS7P8v7888/видео.html
I have these. Sound good but are not loud enough. Also, sound distortion when turned up all the way on iphone. Could have made them better by powering them with an AA battery instead of a AAA for more power.
sorry does the music only works when it has the cable? so no bluetooth? even if so if you do listen to music via wire can you still use the noise cancellation?
I've just bought a pair from eBay and even when they're not connect to my iPhone they can give off 2 to 3 dull thumping noises when I tap the outside of the ear pieces? Anyone else had that problem?
Hey man! Good review! I own a pair of these, they sound really clear and I think that they have plenty of power in the lows... Did you "break in" the pair that you bought before doing the review? It can actually take several hours of listening to music before the drivers loosen up a bit to provide the full frequency response, especially on the low end.
I actually think the triple AAA battery is a plus since you don't have to ditch these very nice headphones unlike other competitors that use an internal battery. :/
Use these with a Fiio headphone amp, I use the A3 and they sound fantastic with tight punchy bass that otherwise may be lacking for some people. Personally, even without the A3 the bass is fine for me 😄
I bought a pair of QC25 's 2 years ago on Amazon prime day and loved them untill the power button took a 💩 11 months later and they replaced them for me ( no hassle) and now 12 months later the power button is acting up again, but tolerable 🤦🏻♂️ The sound quality is Always better wired and Bose no longer makes the QC25's and offered me a QC35 replacement. I dont know if I want the 35's
I own a QC 25 and now a QC 35 wireless Bluetooth one. Both are of the same quality... Par excellence.... The only problem I have with QC 25 is thst the cable :2.5 jack which is detachable has a manufacturing defect for all most all the QC 25 headphones. Within months of very careful using, mostly on planes, I realised that with a slightest, turning your head is a reason enough to lose contact and only one side of the cups plays... You shove the cable in and it works fine again... This is not a specific problem of my headphone but all the QC 25... Just Google it. You did not talk about this in your otherwise great review...
Can you listen to them without noise cancellation and without batteries? (for example if the batteries die, or i still want to be able to hear when dinner is ready)
The Momentums have better overall sound quality I think, although I would prefer the Momentum 2s. Bose has noise-cancelation and comfort over the Momentum 1, not as much over the 2. A lot of people find the Momentum 1 to be very uncomfortable, a problem which was fixed with the 2. If it were my money, I'd probably go with the Bose. First choice would be Momentum 2 though
I assume the difference between the Bose and Momentum 2 would be $50 then? If so, I would get the Momentum 2s. Think about it, consider you'll be using these for at least a year if not years to come. If you break down the cost into a daily or monthly perspective, it's only a matter of dollars in the long run. Go with the best you can afford
Do you know if they fixed the issue that the QC15 had (headphones not powering up due to a design defect... the wire that runs from the battery compartment to the negative post on the door/hinge has a fatigue failure problem. Through many repetitions of opening and closing the door to change the battery you inadvertently cause the wire to snap)?
Hey I think about either buying the Bose QC25 or the bose studio wireless. I would also like a consider an audio technica product that is wireless, but I have seen any good options. Which do you recommend?
+Mauricio Castro As great as Audio-Technica is, I don't think they're quite there yet with Wireless headphones. Their wired offerings are much better quality. With that said, the Bose QC25 isn't wireless either, but does have decent sound quality and excellent noise-cancellation. I would go with the Beats Wireless if Bluetooth is a must, they are pretty decent sound quality for a truly Wireless headphone.

Thank you mate!! Can you please guide me to some wired headphones that really pop while listening to EDM music?!?!
They're designed with travelers in mind. Much easier to swap a AAA than to charge in between flights.
+Davis Vanderslice Yeah that's a very valid point. Bose is staying focused on their main customer base.
Having a replaceable standard battery is better than a built-in rechargeable one. This is actually a plus for this headset over others IMO.
+DeusExAstra You know that's a good point, I'm starting to see it as a positive based on all these similar comments.
Good video!
I completely agree.
Just ordered them because of the same reason.
Except having no rechargeable battery isn't ecological in the slightest.
I'd say using a AAA battery is better as you can always quickly replace the battery with ease and boom, you're off once again.
Good point and nice F430 scud
+ODi Productions Anyway this is an awesome video and very helpful. It is a hell of a car!
Agree
Get these for long flights. Used it on a 15 hour flight, amazing. Can actually get some sleep, airplane noise about 70% gone in my opinion
Your review just helped me to decide. I'm an average listener who is not heavy on the bass and appreciate a well balance sound. In a noisy world, this is a good headphones to have. You totally expressed my thoughts and concerns about getting a pair of headphones. Awesome review.
+nebulonB Sweet! Glad I could help with your purchase decision. The QC25 does sound like the perfect fit for you, and you won't be disappointed.
Dude your reviews are legt. Keep up the great work!
+Kevin The Tech Ninja Appreciate it Kevin!! Means alot coming from someone like you :-)
***** :) - Keep up the good work man! SUBBED!
Watching in 2024😮
Hey ODI Productions... just one thing I have to tell you...
even though they aren't truly wireless you can buy an adapter to make them wireless

Yeah I didn't think of it like that. V good point
And if I don't fly that much hm
+Misael Campos Much appreciated and thank you for your detailed input! I agree with you, I do wish the bass had more impact.
Thanks for the video, just got some for Xmas and had no idea what it's features were. This is awesome! stoked for these headphones
You do some of the best "No Hype Zone" reviews. Great video length too (6-10 minutes).
Dennis Ping get your hairline straight
AAA batteries are better than built in. Remember lithium ion batteries degrade every charge.
My opinion as well. I am looking for my first pair of NC headphones and for sure I don't want the limitations of a built-in battery. I use rechargeable AA and AAA batteries so I'm not throwing away lots of alkalines.
Good point.
Totally, I've always preferred disposable batteries over rechargable batteries because eventually you'll get to like 4 hours of charge lol.
you can get 27 hours with a rechargeable
Rue Leonheart So very true
Do they work without wires??
Well reviewed. Very nicely balanced, I just bought a pair today and yes shutting out the noise in itself is worth the price tag !
+Fiere88 Yes the noise-cancellation is excellent and makes a world of difference. Thanks for watching!
Great review as always!
You sir deserve way more subs. So detalied, fact-giving etc.I'm proud to already be here with you (you will soon become big on yt).
+Daniel Lantz I appreciate that more than you know Daniel!! Thank you friend
Agree with your commentary. Commute between Long Island and NYC (LIRR + subway). I appreciate the ability to disconnect from the noise.
+LUIS OTOYA Yup! That noise-cancellation comes in clutch in the real world.
Great review! Im a proud owner, first time went into NC headphones and that was the best experience ever
+muhd fadhlan Omar Thanks for watching! Glad you are satisfied with your purchase. Enjoy :-)
I watched your video wearing them.
Is your presentation so good, or my head phones?
Why not both?
Keyser Söze
I hate built in battery, going from the S4 to S6... i had to carry multiple battery packs rather than smaller S4 batteries... can't wait to change to another phone...
@@shriyacc3532 No because there are cheaper and better headphones than these.
You just read my mind! That's mind blowing! Another fantastic review. (I also love the background music you make)
The thing I do not understand is that most of the Bose speakers are known to be bassy, but for some reason they chose to do it this way.
+ODi Productions Exactly :) I would love to try out the M100, but yeah that's not a pair they sell in every store :(
+Danté Ahh you are correct. You know, I think V-Moda offers a 60-day free trial of their products. Maybe you could consider trying them out like that?
4:30 i can say a lot of bad stuff about these headphones from a sound standpoint but i gotta disagree
the plastic is probably there to make them lighter(as u mention later on) the feel well built
but the sound is just terrible imo im selling my pair on ebay since the sound they produced seemed sharper than my other headphones up to the point where i felt ear pain after around 30 minutes of usage on similar volume settings to my other Headphones
that being said, my 50€ Bose in ears have been serving me very well, offering imo better sound while in quiet environments for 1/4 of what i paid for these
yesterday i almost bought one then i saw the reviews from amazon where 10% of the people said the same thing, either the left side or the right side stopped working suddenly. this is the only set back for me
Yea it seems a fault, got a pair today for nowt off my pal with sound just coming from the left ear and noise cancellation not working, but a quick fix off you tube and i've got them working perfect, and i've ordered some new cups and a bluetooth adapter as they are really comfortable and for nothing, i'm buzzing.
wearing mine right now :) completely shut into my own world with people all around me! the sound quality to me is complete silk, (for lack of a better term)
+Aaron Manning Haha, that's a perfect way to describe these headphones! Enjoy
Great Review. I totally agreed with everything you said except the AAA battery thing. It's actually a good thing to have a removable battery where you can just swap in a new one and keep going rather than relying it on charge.
+sleeping phoenix Yeah that's a very valid point and there are definitely advantages to the AAA battery vs rechargeable.
I am glad they use a battery might not have away to charge them when wearing them out. I can carry two or three AAA batteries.
I imagine having both a built in battery and external would be a good option.
+tomassinbrooklyn I just carry two batteries get mine at dollar store.
Always appreciate a thorough review and thanks for the outline in the description!
+I love ASMR Thanks for watching!
Great review and still one of the best noise cancelling headphones around.
This is a fantastic review. I've been looking for some good headphones and this review has helped me a lot. You covered everything people want and gave an honest review. Thank a lot!
Good review, looking to buy these for the noise cancellation
Thanks, and if noise-cancellation is what you want, these are the ones to get.
I think I'm going to buy these for my long plane ride from Switzerland to LA in December, I think that's a good choice, or isn't it?
Oh man for a flight that long, a pair of noise-canceling headphones is a MUST HAVE! I just took a couple 4 hour flights across the US and blocking out jet engine noise and crying babies while listening to full quality music is heaven.
Update! I gave an HONEST review of the new QC35 here: ruclips.net/video/1_tv6Dyu9sw/видео.html
which would you say is worth getting out of the two?
If you have the extra money, by all means the QC35 with the Bluetooth wireless is worth it.
H
how do these compare to Sony EXTRA BASS XB650BT
Loved the way you approached the review, keep up the good work.
Appreciate that greatly!
Will the noise cancelling work if you are out of battery, but you have it plugged in a device?
noise cancelation is applied in the mic ? or only the speakers for those who hear it ?
returned M40x after 10 days, just too tight for me. And M50x seems too large for my need.
I was hesitating between QC25 and Momentum 2.0, for about the same price, I gave up some bass for a comfort and quieter headphone ( also lighter on my head).
Got QC25 for about a month now. I also find the low is a bit thin, and my Note 5 isn't pushing it very loud either (75% volume+)
Also, I was lucky to get the triple black edition, it looks very classy on head, not stupidly attracting attention like Beats. Battery life was also great, first one lasted 20 days ( I use it almost everyday). So, yeah, if I had to choose again, QC25 hands down.
I wish:
- more low end
- wider ear pad toward the inside to give more contact surface (pressure could be lowered a little bit)
+ODi Productions Kind acceptance of an alternative viewpoint - thanks. Means I'll watch even more of your reviews. :) All the best.
+Don Ellis I really appreciate that Don! What better way to refine ideas than to compare differing perspectives :-)
Keep it up!
+Jed Official Appreciate the feedback Jed!! Comments like these keep me pushin :-)
+Jed Official Skullcandy is absolute crap
Awesome review. I got the QC25 on the triple-black version and they are awesome! I tested the QC35 model on a Bose store in Orlando, yet I think the QC25 sound better. Not an easy model to beat. Cheers.
I don't think he mentioned this but you can use it even without batteries, it just won't have sound cancellation
True, but the sound quality suffers quite a bit
I think the noise cancellation and warm relaxed sound stage is enough of a selling point for me personally since i do commute via bus almost on a daily basis and the noise created by the bus have really been bothering me and all my current headphones i find very fatiguing.
Oh if you commute often then you NEED a good noise-canceling headphone! Take it from me :P
these are on sale right now for $180 is it worth it at that price? seems like a steal.
james varga that's fucking great go buy em
Buy them
It’s cyber Monday right now for me and they are on sale for 110$ and I’m probably gonna get em
@@horribleross3236 woah same
@@horribleross3236 should I get em rn
Just got them , watching this video with these 🎧, i love them
Thoughts on the battery thing: In a way a replaceable battery can be better for this application.
I own a QC3 which is good. It is getting worn out and I find the noise cancelling can still be better. Is QC25 noise cancelling better than QC3 ?
I would say so, the QC3 is an on-ear headphone whereas the QC25 is over-ear which completely covers your ear, leading to better isolation from the seal.
I think so too. Just want to see if anyone actually tested both and see how much of a difference.
+Felix Kuhnert Yup, that's a good point a few others have brought up. Thanks!
Good review, I'll be picking up a pair of these tomorrow so will see if I agree. I hope if the bass is lacking I can hopefully compensate with the equalizer in Spotify.
How where they?
Excellent review. I just ordered a pair based off your review.
+Chad Betts Whew! Glad I could help with your purchase decision :-) Let me know how you like em!
nothing happens when switching between devices ??
I want to use these headphones for gaming and music listening. Music more I guess, but the deal is, will I be able to get more bass out of it using the preamp in my phone app and equalizer in my PC?
In reading the reviews on these it seems as there is a problem with delicate wires breaking in the ear cups especially the right one after about a year of use. Did you have a problem like that with yours?
i bought mine today but i can hear the sound externally, i thought that is wrong for an headphones...please does it come with speaker function or mine is just faulty
@@tomasfigueiredo2460 Is there an app for these headphones?
@@jmsadms Oh god, juts noticed I thought the video was about the QC 35 and not de 25.I think there isn´t! I´m so sorry!
+Vinyl 2CD Rescue That is a very valid point! I do agree that the Bose are extremely expensive though. Worth it for the noise-cancelation alone IMO.
My question is, how long does one battery last in these headphones
+dxdelafu After recently buying these they don't make my ears hurt for hours, i guess we are all built differently, I do like your opinions however
Thank you for reviewing these headphones :). I have been doing a lot of research on what is the best headphones to get my boyfriend and because he is after noise cancellation (as he travels often) and comfort, then this fits perfectly with what I'm after! :)
+Panda299 Awesome! The Bose QC25 sound perfect for him. He's gonna love it :P
+ODi Productions Hope so, thanks again :) :)
Cool man. Can't wait to see whats in store :)
ARE THEY GOOD FOR WORKING OUT?
Is this the real Bose qc25? The serial number label is in different shape and size, and the battery is from a different brand.
Great job on this video, well done.
This one and Corsair are the most comfortable headphones I’ve used
SO, what's a better headphone in your opinion?? Thanks for the review.
Bose company has added Bluetooth piece for q25
It would have been OK if the monotonous music was omitted and the ear splitting end to it was taken down 50db.
Use these with a Fiio headphone amp, I use the A3 and they sound fantastic with tight punchy bass that otherwise may be lacking for some people. Personally, even without the A3 the bass is fine for me 😄
+Stephen West Great to hear! And nice to see you using a headphone amp to bring out the full potential.
Somebody please let me know...can i use the noise cancelation without the wire Jack?
How does the Bose QC25 compare to Sony’s MDR-7506?
If I purchase the Bluetooth adapter would these work with a PC that transmits Bluetooth?
I bought a pair of QC25 's 2 years ago on Amazon prime day and loved them untill the power button took a 💩 11 months later and they replaced them for me ( no hassle) and now 12 months later the power button is acting up again, but tolerable 🤦🏻♂️ The sound quality is Always better wired and Bose no longer makes the QC25's and offered me a QC35 replacement. I dont know if I want the 35's
Nice Flash figurine at 1:56. Where could we get one of those ?
+Srinivas Abhilash Gondi (Abhi) Thanks! You can pick one up off Amazon. I think the brand is called POP or something.
How is the mic quality?
Can you listen to them without noise cancellation and without batteries? (for example if the batteries die, or i still want to be able to hear when dinner is ready)
+bAWSM Yes you can, but fair warning, the sound quality is reduced greatly.
Hi which one do you think I should Buy(better) Bose QC25 or Momentum 1.0 the difference between price is 150$
The Momentums have better overall sound quality I think, although I would prefer the Momentum 2s.
***** thanks a lot. The difference between 1.0 and 2.0 is around 200$ do you think its worth it?
I assume the difference between the Bose and Momentum 2 would be $50 then? If so, I would get the Momentum 2s. Think about it, consider you'll be using these for at least a year if not years to come. If you break down the cost into a daily or monthly perspective, it's only a matter of dollars in the long run. Go with the best you can afford
***** Thank you very much
Whats the stand? Where can i buy it?
Are they compatible with a android or is it only Apple products?
