The point of double jeopardy is so the state cannot continually bring you in front a of a jury, 4 different trials find you not guilty, and the state continues to retry you. Double jeopardy is not a “silly law” it protects an individual from a rogue government.

I think marriage, to women, used to be such a serious, binding commitment. I believe many have had thoughts about their husbands, but then shake their heads and say I know him, I married him, how could HE , possibly have anything to do with something like this.
