HERE WE GO! In this episode Nav and I start our epic trek across the Gibb! We travel up through Derby and check out the local sights before hitting the road in search of some epic waterholes and camp spots! But it doesn't go to plan! This region has just come off a massive wet season and the area is absolutely teaming with life which causes some unexpected damage to the 79! ARE THERE MORE PROBLEMS AHEAD? Well I did have dreams to become a stand-up comedian but Matt shut me down and broke my fragile spirit.
A lot of creators will try and gloss over the bad parts of a trip and make it look like it went perfectly. One thing I love about this show and you Matty, is you keep it real and show us the good with the bad. Love the collab with Nav, he's an asset to your channel giving some insights to living off the land and showing you his backyard in the Kimberelys. Awesome once again mate

Hi from the UK 🇬🇧 loving the videos. Navi is quite right it’s Saponins in the plant that is the detergent, loving the bushtucker and if you could show spinifex grass and it’s uses I think that would be a great bonus for anyone travelling through
Yeah there is a spinifex grass in the Pilbara that has a rock hard sap that can be used as a glue 👌

Thanks for sharing the survival tips Nav. With the Boab trees, I reckon before the continents drifted apart, WA was attached to Southern Africa which is why we only have them in WA. They didn't make it any further before the drift happened.

Tip from an old camper - never rely solely on satellite for maps etc. Always have a set of topographical paper maps for the area you're exploring. You never know when they will turn off the GPS - it's happened before. Edit - wonderful to be back in that country - a really awesome Aussie cobber show.
