In 2024 Caitlin Clark set a record for setting a record. Only women to win an award establish in 2001 " Best Record-Breaking Performance Espy Award " for setting a record for most NCAA career points scored (men's and women's) 3951.
I laugh when people claim she broke the mens scoring record too. Maravich averaged 44.2 points a game. Back then, freshman couldn’t play varsity so he only played 3 seasons. They didn’t include his freshman scoring.

Tennis is the only sports where women have parity in viewership and in preference. This is an exception. Women's golf is popular in asia. WNBA is made horrible by the players within , hence the welfare state. CC is a breath of fresh air.. but players would rather suffocate.

No. A friend texted me after I got home from a concert in the park, I turned it on for a couple of minutes and they were talking about the WNBA which I have no interest so I turned it off.

Even back in the days when college and pro sports were great, I never understood this Sports Awards show, each major sport has its own champion and individual merit award, that's all I need to see. I didn't watch it years ago and certainly wouldn't watch it today, unless I was desperate for something to laugh at.

I can't believe they still do the ESPY's. I remember when it first started in '93. I'm pretty sure it was just a couple weeks after the Bills-Cowboys Super Bowl and they gave Don Beebe an award for best play for stripping Leon Lett when he was showboating at the goal line. It's such a stupid award show. I'm surprised they haven't gotten rid of it like the handful of times Comedy Central tried to do comedy award shows.

Support Women's sports!! I did today. I tuned in to watch a little men's Summer League Basketball. What i actually got was a women's doubles tennis match. Included in this match was a black chick I swear went 250 LBS.!! I only had this on for a few seconds before switching over to anything else. Apparently this big ol' Black rino WON this doubles match, and I thought, geez, I wish i wouldn't have changed the channel. (no I didn't. I'm fkng GLAD I missed it) THAT is my total support for women's sports for this year, folks.
