The breath of Ruby's love for Penny was shown so well in the scene with her sword. Its was like she was the most precious thing in the world to Ruby, and she knew she would never get the chance to see it again.
It also kinda reminded me of how kids falling asleep on the couch would be carried to their bed with no knowledge of how they got there, so to little they were in fact "guiding them" in their sweet innocent mind
The correct spelling is Dormouse, the English name of the species derived from the French dormeuse, fem. of dormeur 'sleeper'...describing its long hibernation periods.
Just realized only Blake, Weiss & Ruby know what Penny's green swords look like....Penny only deployed them in reaction to Yang's fall and Blake screaming "YANG!" ... Yang only catches on when Ruby begins her Eulogy. Side note, Weiss applying cold logic to their situation isn't working, but Blake the book nerd catches the storybook vibe of this place....and Ruby trusts Blake's judgement...and a Eulogy is very powerful storytelling indeed.
I just know that Weiss read the book when she was no longer the target audience, it's something for 7-8 year olds but she was probably 13 looking for a novel but came across a compilation book of fairy tales that she hated because of how basic they were.
-Chapter 2: Altercation at the Auspicious Auction RWBY quote of the chapter _“…But for whatever reason, this place is putting us on a similar path as a book we all read as kids. I say we follow it, and stop pretending we know what we’re doing” (Ruby Rose)_ -The Ever After So now we know the name of the place; The Ever After. It kind of gives the feeling of an afterlife or an underworld and given that they fell into it, it may be true. And a very colorful underworld no less. -Coming to Grips Just like the colors, each member of the team reacting different with the situation they are in. Yang seems to be the least concerned about the place, probably because she has been their longer than them. Her focus was primarily on getting her arm back and then moving on. And her personality was pretty much the same as well. Confident, laid-back, punch-first-and-ask-questions later, with only Jinxi’s price being the thing that gave her pause. Weiss was trying to use logic to stay grounded on the situation (and amusingly so), only for that same logic to be turned on its head (literally in the case with the rock). Aside from that, she is disappointed about the fate of Atlas, sorrow at the loss of Penny and how she wasn't there to see or even know its ultimate fate and the fate of the Relic. Blake seemed to be in her element of with regards to the stories (apparently a bit more of a guide than Little). However with that knowledge comes the concern about the dangers of Ever After as wanting not to repeat Aless' actions which apparently resulted in a war. This goes back to why she left the White Fang, knowing that their actions at that point would eventually lead to a war, as evidenced at the Fall of Beacon. Obviously (as a watcher), Ruby is the one who is suffering at the most, especially considering Penny's death. It probably hurt her even more now than the first because Penny had just became a real human only to hear that she is gone, and this time with no chance of revival. And as an element, although she isn't overtly showing her grief personally, the place itself displays it through the rain, in effect crying for her. Plus, she somehow was able to sense one of Penny's swords despite Jinxi’s deception. It does lead to a thought that this place may not just be from the fairytale, that it may be _Ruby's fairytale._ An oddity is that the others don't to be too concerned with Ruby's solemn behavior. Maybe because that are used to her taking the lead and seeing her strength throughout that they may not think of her internal conflict. Likely they believe that she could shake it off and move on like so many times before. But there is only so much a person take before they break. Thus Kindly I Scatter…

I love how Little reminds us of Stuart by their name, but the Dormouse by their narcolepsy. Also I am particularly intrigued by the Rusted Knight, and look forward to meeting them. Also also, I love how Weiss is shipping Bumbleby in-universe...
You make an excellent point--it's been great seeing the team just by themselves. We take for granted that they spend so much time with each other outside of "plot", but we also never get to see it. It's been great to see the primary characters actually talk to one another for a bit.
I've been waiting for Ruby to break for a few volumes now, who we get when she's finally put back together is going to be an even more amazing character. Also Lucy Christian getting to come back to voice another character is so good.

And of course both song and book written after a psychoactive drug trip. I want to go here Weiss here eat this mushroom everything after will make more sense. okay, something screwy's going on with region locking it seems, I don't have access to the english version of episodes 2 & 3 on crunchyroll, only the japanese dub EDIT: Nope, nevermind, it's listed as japanese but is actually in english.
I don't see how the Alyx or Alex theory holds any merit. Her story was written already. In the fairytale she made it vack home, so she wouldn't be in the Everafter anymore. Just my opinion. I am stcking with the girl being Cresent Rose.

I mean, what are you going to do? CRWBY and the employees of RoosterTeeth overall have been constantly screwed over by corporate decisions. This could be seen from the very first episode of RWBY. However, despite this the writers and production team were able to still make a decent season so far. Obviously, you could tell that they weren't given many resources or much of a budget for this season, but what they've created has been actually really good so far, considering the limitations they're working under. Not to mention the concept is brilliant.

I would expect that Little is meant to represent the dormouse in Alice in Wonderland, and the dormouse is known for falling asleep a lot.

This volume so far has been disappointing. It'll be the last volume we get if this keeps up.
