'Yes we finally got a name. The Benno RemiDemi. In Germany it means “a disturbance or commotion” similar to the meaning of “ruckus” in the US. But mostly we liked the sound of the name. It makes you smile just like the bike.' - Benno
I purchased this bike in March 2020 and I love it. I live in Canada very close to the rockies and love the turbo mode going up steap hills. I can ride about 45 kilometers on one charge that is enough for me. I do find it hard on rough roads and have tried lowering the tire pressure for a smoother ride but did not help much. At 40 Km an hour you can peddal fast enough but thats fastest enough for me. In summary I love this bike and would recommend it. The only negative thing about this bike is the information they provide with the bike not very good after spending over $5000 CAD for this bike. Robert Betts Alberta Canada
Another great video. How does this compare to the Tern HSD? They both seem to be more compact cargo style bikes. I really love the simplicity of the design.
Tested the HSD and the RD side by side. They ride a bit different. The HSD is a bit more forward leaning and also a bit more tippy and nervous in the frame balance. It has the advantage with the shock, but the bigger wheels on the RD doesnt require you to hit smaller obstacles with a 90 degree angle. The HSD has a double load capacity on the rear rack, but sizewize they are similar. The RD has a more powerful motor, but it's also heavier than the HSD.
I like the clean, simple, and obviously strong frame designs of this, and all Benno bikes. Compare to some of the cluttered frame designs of other manufacturers with similar cargo capacity.
I completely agree. He does an awesome job! He actually designed the most popular bike in the world, the Electra Townie, so he seems to know something :)
Dear Chris, having ridden the RemiDemi, do you feel it would be a capable and fast commuter in a busy urban setting, or would the eScout be better suited for that application? Thank you.
The smaller wheels and compact size would make the RemiDemi easier to handle in crowded spaces. The motor is slightly more powerful than the current eScout, but the eScout would feel a bit sportier due to its geometry, larger wheels but lighter wheels. I hope this helps.
Hi Chris, neat bike. It almost has a Tonka truck look to it that I really like. Is a clean design that is pretty appealing and I like that you can add racks and baskets to make carrying stuff easier. BTW, do you know if the tires are puncture resistant? Since they are so wide it would seem that they would pick up every nail, screw, or piece of debris that can cause a flat. Thx. =)
Thanks Jaun! I appreciate your support and comments. Totally a Tonka Truck vibe lol. The tires seemed very thick so I would say they are pretty puncture resistant compared to a normal tire.
What a unique fat tire bike. Thank you Chris 🤗! Please keep posting videos. Keep grabbing Something Out of the show room and sharing it with us👍.. I really enjoyed the videos where you take us for a ride and a tour around the neighborhood. And when is Court coming to visit?! Thanks Again.. ❤️😊
Thank you so much for your support! I will do my best. Many more to come :) I’ll try to do more tours. Maybe do one of LA soon and check out some other cities. I spoke to Court recently and I know he’s busy but I think we will try and do something this spring. He’s welcome anytime and I always enjoy working with him.
Remi Demi or Remmi Demmi could be translated to rumpus or shindy, basically "a lot of things going on". So the bike can handle all the remmi demmi during your day.
Love this for NYC food delivery, upright positioning & stepthrough is best for maintaining food & especially drinks, also its a great looking & intelligent 👌design...😁.
Chris, does it look like a yepp seat would be too cramped back there? I honestly thought this would be an HSD competitor in the compact cargo category, but i'm having a hard time seeing a kid and a panier on that rear rack. It does look fun tho.
The HSD has a bit more room on the rear rack. I don’t think you can easily use a Yepp seat and a pannier on this bike. You could use the Yepp XL adapter and run a pannier but not with the stock setup.
Yeah that chain & tensioner is sooo close to the ground at rear derailleur. I like the tensioner that Tern puts on their chain-version HSD model...seems to lift whole system up a little. Agree with John.... I’d slso be very interested if internal gearing like Terns s8i
This is the Gen 3 Performance Line which is an update to the ever popular Gen 2 performance line. Gen 4 is only the CX, Speed and the Cargo Line and Cargo line Speed. We have a shipment arriving in July. Many are already spoken for, but we still have some left.
What's the step through height? What's the minimum seat height? I need my feet to be able to be flat on the ground when I'm on the seat. I just tried a Tern HSD S8i and it was too high for me. I'm so disappointed. Context: I'm 5'1" with a 29 inch inseam and mild Cerebral Palsy
@@Propelbikes I would like to have the same opportunity as the gsd term. Perhaps the structure is not as strong but having those big pannier bags with 100 l capacity would make a huge difference. Do you know the length of the gsd rack?
Everything on this bike from frame to tires to brakes are much higher quality spec. For example, you are looking at Deore hydraulic disc brakes vs. Tektro cable disc brakes. Higher quality motor, battery, shifters, crank, etc... I have owned 3 Rad bikes (Rad Wagon, Rad Mini, Rad City) and have now switched to Benno due to the much more enjoyable ride and component reliability. We now have a Benno Boost and a Remdemi. They are far superior and you get what you pay for.
The fat tire can handle more terrain and usually provides more comfort and stability. Sure it’s heavier and less efficient, but with an ebike that’s less of a concern.
It seems to be thinking people who seem to be dealing with the right problems, but how can I finally explain to them that the adjustment of the cyclist's seat in relation to the pedals should be carried out on an outstretched leg? When will they finally realize that sitting on bent knees leads to chronic joint diseases? And it will not be possible to cure it!

Hey Robert, any updates after a few years of regular use? Has the battery held-up? Motor still in good shape? Frame without major integrity faults?

Hi, do you know is the bike is capable of towing a heavy trailer (approx 250 KG, 40 kg trailer and 200Kg load. how much would it effect range?

Benno has a three quarter rail for the rack for the RemiDemi XL. Is it / will it be available for the RemiDemi (normal) as well?
What a unique fat tire bike.

Hey Benno, cool bike. Can you put an internal gearing and then a chain guard? I will buy 2 for my family immediately 😚 Thanks.
I’m meeting with Benno later this week and I’ll let him know your comment.

Love the non_triangle frame design. Not a fan of the first generation Bennos but the recent ones are great!
Hi the tyres on this bike will be perfect for me in a 26 by 4 inches for my commute to work. Were they a branded tyre. 🤔🤞♥️
Duro is the company that makes these tires. Not sure if they make that size.
Looks like this is Gen 4 motor, not Gen3 as you mentioned in the video. When you getting these in stock?

@@Propelbikes Is this the same Gen3 motor Stache put on Lundi 26.3?
Yes it is
For a heavy, sturdy, moderately expensive bike like this, I would have loved to see a fully enclosed chain guard. Otherwise, it looks great.
Unfortunately it’s not possible to put a chain case on a derailleur.
Is the bike already available to order?
Right now it looks like April or May of this year.
Looks really cute ! And yellow is my color

Can you easily find other tires from companies like pirelli or Continental to replace the ridiculous Chinese tires that come with the bike?
How fast does it go?
This one goes 20mph
Some of theese bikes have a second steel bar over the engine, others not. Whats up with that?
I think those are the newer models, likely added for extra strength. They may have found this wasn’t quite strong enough :/
It's a pity the tail/back rack wasn't built longer.

This is exactly what I was thinking
Like the bike but that chain length and sag freaks me out yelling “ima break when you need me most”.
How does this bike compare to the RadRunner, which is a third of the price? Is the expense of this one worth it?

I can't understand fat tires. what's wrong with a standard bicycle wheel?
The fat tire can handle more terrain and usually provides more comfort and stability. Sure it’s heavier and less efficient, but with an ebike that’s less of a concern.
Nice, I'd like to see a non electric version so I could put a bbshd on it!
I don’t foresee that happening at the moment. This bike will just be available with the Bosch motor system.
@@Propelbikes shame, the search continues....
I'd rather just give the mongoose envoy a try and upgrade that with a ebike kit
Becomes so heavy with a frame out of steel no?
How much? There's a scammer on Facebook selling it for $99.99
In French Remi May mean uni sex and Demi means half
Except if I'm missing something, Remi doesn't mean that. Demi is used to describe half of something though.
Maxime Thériault Remi could mean oarsman or a boy or girls name well that’s what google suggests
Remidemi is german slang for a party.
