- Join us for a special live-streamed session as the Senate of Rhodes University convenes an extraordinary sitting on Wednesday, 18 September 2024, at 16h00 to pay tribute to the late Professor Rui Krause, a respected member of the academic community.
This session, called by the Vice-Chancellor and Chair of the Senate, will offer an opportunity for colleagues, students, and the wider Rhodes community to honor the life and contributions of Prof Krause, following his sudden passing. His legacy and impact on the University will be remembered during this solemn tribute.
Please join us in paying respects to a cherished academic, mentor, and friend.

As a student at Chemistry department Rhodes University, I learned a lot from late Prof. Krause. He was a perfect gentleman, an inch a Man, a distinguished scholar of accolades, a strategic thinker, a master tactician, and a solid planner.
It was a deep loss for me as his student whom i always look up to him as a role model😭. Indeed, Rhodes university, south Africa and Humanity loss an important personality.
