I bought this to test for radioactivity resulting from a radioactive iodine treatment for thyroid cancer and tumors.

Sorry to hear about your wife's diagnosis. I have an aunt and a cousin (her daughter) that both had the thyroid diagnosis. I am happy to tell you they both did very well with the treatments and are now cancer free. I tell you this to hopefully give you some comfort knowing that its definitely beatable. I'm writing this on Monday, and on Wednesday morning I'm to receive the same radioactive Iodine treatment as your wife. It encourages me to hear of her experience and recovery, as well as that of many of the commenters. I had previously noticed the GMC-300 unit in your Amazon store and felt prompted to buy a copy of it with expedited shipping. One of my biggest concerns was how to detect any residual radiation left in my "quarters" and the adjoining bathroom. This sets my mind more at ease since we will have a way to "sniff" for this residual radiation now. Thanks for the tip and the demo.

@@SevenFortyOne Rob, I thought you'd like to know that I have my copy of the GMC-300. It's day 3 of my treatment (Friday) so I unboxed the unit (90% battery when received) and powered it up. Oddly, it sat in my lap with 0 CPM for about 5 minutes. I set up the controls and time as you suggested. Then--I peeled the plastic wrap from the front panel. Ten seconds, then the thing went nuts. 60,000 CPM! I removed the operating unit out to a table in the hallway, backed up about 6-8 feet into my room, and observed the unit--still pushing 2-3000 CPM! I will let my wife use the unit on her end of the house to monitor over there; it will be a learning experience to see the results. Then as I come out of quarantine on Monday it will be valuable to assist us in the clean-up of my quarantine room.
Does gmc-300e plus still has any advantages over newer gmc-300s? worth modifying it with soviet SBM-20 or other tube?

Such a nice clean utilitarian look and packaging.
It can also work as an external sensor for computer. There were a few open source utilities I’ve seen people use before to log and set alarms from this.

Excellent short review. I'm getting it from the Amazon link, to check levels that are given off by the body from the covid injection when the body is irradiated by RF.
Hmm...mine must be broken. I took it with me to work and stopped near a 5g tower on my way home. I found my radiation level was lower than usual. What would cause that?
@@SevenFortyOne The injection was 50% placebo, and the other 50% varied from 10 to 100 mcg per liter of active ingredient, according to the published EUA documents from Pfizer for their Comirnity injection. Comirnity however is not available in the U.S., and the one that is available and is being injected now is not approved.

I have the exact same unit. I need to send mine in to be recalibrated after a little over a year of continuous use.... At first my unit started giving me random high counts up into the hundreds and then after probably a month it just continually stayed up 200+... I ended up getting a second one they're upgraded model with Wi-Fi. that one has been running over a year now and seems to be doing pretty good.

I just bought one and wanted to test against smoke detectors I didn’t notice any difference. Perhaps new smoke detectors do not emit radiation?

Did you have to download the software for it as the instructions recommend, or did it work out of the box?
You only need the software if you want to log the data it produces. It works out of the box without it.

She went through the surgery and the radiation treatment with no complications and the prognosis is very good

How would a person protect the device from the EMP pulse emitted during a nuclear detonation to be able to use it in the unlikely event of nuclear war or an accident like Chernobyl?

I've never heard of millirad. We use milliRem in Canada.
