Could you believe that Bird would only pay us mechanics $15 total to fix several M365 issues including this one. Nice job on the video. I'd love to see a video on how to change the front inner tube.
Nick kind of weird I made this comment. I think I was being a bit sarcastic. I've changed probably about 15 front inner tube repairs while I was a mechanic and it's the toughest repair of them all. Lots of things have changed in the past 10 months or so. Stopped being a Bird charger last October because Bird completely cut off the amount of nests. Looks like the M365 has been discontinued. Amazon hasn't had it in stock for quite sometime. I still have a ton of extra M365 parts including about 5 brake levers.
We broke the lever just like the one in the video. Obviously you don't need to replace the whole lever mechanism with electrical connections, etc.. Just undo the nut that holds the lever in place, loosen the brake cable at the brake end to give some 'play' in the brake cable. The cable easily pulls out of the lever, remove the lever mechanism (taking note where the spring and 2 top-hat washers will need to go in the new one. Fit the new lever in the opposite sequence to its removal. The whole process takes 10 minutes max.. I couldn't buy just the lever on its own- shame to waste all the rest of the mechanism including the electrical stuff which probably accounts for 90% of what I had to buy!
Hi Louisa- I ordered it from scooterhut.com.au/xiaomi-m365-pro-brake-lever/ . It arrived super fast. If you Google 'Brake Lever suit Xiaomo 365' (assuming that's your model) you'll find a number of sellers. Mine was AU$20 plus postage. Unfortunately they all seem to sell the complete brake handle assembly not just the lever itself which would, if available on its own, probably be about $5!
thanks for this. without you, unable to fix my brake lever....on the replacement part, it was written "installation very easy" lol. but thanks to you i just did it, now i'm just about to test it. thanks again pint it
Holy mackerel. I'll just keep the Hall sensor unit from my old brake and only replace the lever assembly. Because this is crazy. Thanks for the video, though, I'm sure it'd be immensely helpful. I may watch it just to learn how to disassemble the front panel.
you can skip opening the panel to the motherboard. If your sensor is intact then just replace the broken handle. So leave the sensor(the little panel w a chip that is connected to to the motherboard via cable in the steering bar) and just use it with your new brake handle.
Hello, at 10:14 is this wizardry? For me the little steel wire is too short (of ≤ 1 cm) to be easily put back by hand in the black plastic. Is it more easily doable with replacement parts? Or maybe I just lack strength.
I did it with a little stronger pull of the wire (in order not to scratch the socket on the outside). The other option is to detach the wire on the other end, just unwind the screw holding it, but then you get another pain in the a*s when you finish with the lever, to fix it back again and trim it to work properly
if the engine brake cable is not damaged not need to complete removing like this hard way! Just put out engine brake cable cap and put it on the new brake lever
You didnt need to disassemble everything, you could have just unscrewed the hall sensor from the bottom of the brake lever (and remove the grip, ofcourse), in order to slide out the old brake handle off the handlebar.

holy crap. Isn´t there an easier way to change bell and brake lever from their original position without going through all of this work? just want te damn bell closer to my thumb
Do not follow this instruction video, all you have to do it unhook the brake cable. Do not remove the front panel, it doesn't make sense this whole process can be done in 2 minutes
Thanks for the video, it happen the same to me and i was wondering how could i fix it replacing for a new one. your video explained alot, keep it up

Thank you so much for this excellent tutorial! I was able to repeat each step exactly as you have shown and voila, it worked! 🙏🏼👌🏼

How did that go? Im about to do the same

how I can replace just pressing bar (handle) I buy this whole part just take out handle from new and attach to old?
@@thecrimer yes if it is only the handle itself that is broken, the chip needs to be intact.
For me it was the lever in the handle that was broken.
Sei un grande!!!
no need to take the front panel off, thanks for the vid.
I'm just trying to replace a factory bell. And I have to do all this to slide the bell on?

any trial to just change a handle as I have pressing part broken shall I change whole part like to here or just other Bar with 2 screws (pressing bar)
Thanks so much for taking the time to make an excellent repair video!

Thank you very much, you have gopals blessing
Do you think you could move the throttle to the left hand side, keeping the brake lever on the left too?
In my opinion it will be difficult due to the conflict with the bell which is also the handle used when folding the handle bar
@@pinit9565 What about then moving the bell to the right hand side - the folding 'hook/latch' should still work then, right?
@@RoyalSeducer87 I've checked - it will be work ;-)
Pin It! Nice - thanks for checking
Thank you so much now I understand how a can replace even the bell. ✌️🛴
Does the brake light actuator switch work in side the mother board. I need to squeeze really hard to get my brake light to blink. Any ideas?
Also can you do a throttle replacement
Just cut the rubber grip, than buy new ones (custom size and color)
At the 3:05 mark what are you removing I couldn't see I don't know what to do
Thank you. You're the best!
No need to do all this. Just disconnect the sensor at the lever. But thanks for the vid
What steps can be skipped exactly?
Jozef, that’s a good idea. How do you do that?
Not easy, but thanks to you it worked!!!
Thank you very much for the video, very helpful!

Thank you very very much, you save me
Hi I have the same problem my model is 1s I bought the brake I connected and on the display all the error 15 appears to me, what is the problem?
My brake replacement came without the white cap to easily slot into the connecting cap of the circuit board. What can i do?

You don't have to take the whole scooter apart just the lever.. and the chip inside the lever...
