I'll never understand the logic of going abroad (Spain or elsewhere) and only eating what you do at home. If that's what going abroad is about for you? Stay home and use the airfare to book a week in Blackpool instead. Spain has some of if not the best food in Europe
Spanish food is overrated... Tapas, especially in Benidorm is like left over wedding buffet food... It's okay for a few days and then I get bored of it... I do love my garlic prawns though... I used to be a bit snobby like you but people like what they like... At the end of the day, the main reason they go abroad is for the guaranteed sun... If they fancy a full English, fish and chips or roast dinner while in Spain, then so what, they doing what they enjoy... Life would be boring if we all did the same thing and we all have different tastes!... Also, when I go to non-spanish destinations, the Spanish tourists eat just like they do at home so they're exactly the same as us, they like home comforts!
Just came across your videos last night and now watching them all. Were thinking of going to Benidorm next September for the 50th birthdays. Last time i was there i was 21. Been going to Tenerife for years but this year at xmas will be our last for a long time as just not same anymore. Went to Turkey in may and Albuferia in September.
I was thinking about Tenerife at some point , is it not worth it anymore ? You’ll love Benidorm again. I’ve been going for last 20 years and never disappoints.
@Yorkshire_Lee . Over the last few years Tenerife has become unsafe on a night out. Last year at Xmas was full of gypsy families and that stopped others being able to enjoy themselves. Tenerife still pretty cheap and plenty to do. Would always say to anyone to give it a try.
Love the way you show that there is so much more to Benidorm Than just the strip. We love the central area near the old town for a coffee in the morning and the Poniente side is so beautiful.Keep them coming !I say what I like and I like what I bloody well say 🤣what a sketch thanks for reminding me!
We love benidorm we go there 3 times a year and we all ways stay in the old town in a fantastic place to meet people and see all of the culture of the old town
Keys to Benidorm for Yorkshire Lee as he pushes back against the Anti-Benidorm Snobbery from people that probably in most cases have never been or are too Judgemental. Look on the bright side Lee ..Benidorm with its stunning coastal vista and unique friendly people is what it is because the boring Benidorm critics STAY AWAY...🤙 Nice one pal...🤙😎👏👌💯🤝
Nelly famous dry sense of humour had me in stitches, Lee: Do you not like heights?? Nelly: I love em mate, it's the falling from em I'm not keen on 😂😂😂
awesome video, as usual, Mr.Lee. For next time try "Pintxos Aurrea" or "Los Pinchos Morunos II" for the best spanish tapas ever, but if you really want to try spanish food go for "Restaurante el Niño" if you want to try a proper paella, no bullshit for tourist, or maybe another classic spanish cousine. Hope your doing well with personnal stuff and best wishes, cheers
Thanks and Self taught, Macmaster is great. But don’t really try to follow his style, me pointing a camera at myself and talking is prob where comparison ends, don’t think he does high concept videos or voice overs. Be yourself 😎
Great video 👍 I couldn’t find where to get an aperol spritz when we went in February (first time for me), so thanks for showing where to get one, looked lovely 🍹
Hi Lee, Is Benidorm just a lot of alcohol? Are the beaches actually nice and is there good swimming or is the current strong? And is there a lot of walking spots? It appears to be a lot cheaper than Alicante, just want to know if there other things to do other than just drink alcohol?
Yes, plenty to do. Plenty of nice walks, to the cross etc. beaches are fantastic and a lot better than some other popular European destinations beachs.
Bit of a niche subject but if any of your gang is in Allopurinol 100mg I got a box of 100 out there for £2.73. Ten times more expensive in UK on prescription. Gonna see what else I can get cheap next time I'm there .😁
If I went, id be going just for the sun and I wouldn't want any complications like Spaniards knocking about or anything foreign. Just British food, and some sun. So id choose Benidorm and hope it was like that, as there's probably nowhere else more likely to be like that in Spain.😁😁
Great video, good stuff. By the way, as a brit who lives in west spain in a very spanish area, we are looking to move to benidorm to live. My mates have told me dont live in benidorm given that i will most likely look for a cheap annual rental of a flat, in turn meaning a bad area? Are there bad areas to benidorm i mean? Though me and my partner both work, our work is not always reliable and so need to look at lower rental prices. I do get tired of one mate of mine saying benidorm is "cheap" or "a dump". I hate this reputation people give to benidorm, it looks nice on videos etc. We aim to visit benidorm this month to see if we want to live there. My partner is spanish, but we both want a more brit expat part of spain Do you think alicante will be easier to get better accomodation at the same price? Thanks for any advice
Alicante is one of the best value areas in Spain for property and not too far away from Benidorm... Also check out the nearby town to Benidorm called Villajoyosa!... It's absolutely stunning but more expensive for property than Benidorm... Torrevieja which is lower down from Alicante is dirt cheap and is like a poor man's Benidorm but is a little too run down for my liking and probably a bit too far away from Benidorm if you're wanting to travel there regularly... If you go on the Idealista website, there's a draw feature where you can draw an outline of the area you want to buy and then filter it... Test it out on different areas and then filter to get a feel for the prices for each location.
@@landscapeandmonuments1615 There is a RUclipsr called Benidorm and Beyond who has covered bad areas in Benidorm. Also a RUclipsr called Benidorm by Ana who has a side business of helping people move to the Benidorm area. Might be worth checking them out.
@@davidholgate123 really useful info, much appreciated. Yes, Alicante city looks more realistic even though I prefer Benidorm. I checked idealista and nearly all flats are summer rents only when I type in 750 euros for two bedrooms. Our budget is that figure. It makes Benidorm therefore nearly impossible whereas Alicante at that price does have ok apartments. As we will be moving from a totally Spanish part of Spain, we would like more of a Brit community, does Alicante city have some English element? Was considering Torrevieja but as u say, seems to get bad press . Thanks again
